The Parade of Army Green Continues
We are all experiencing the charms of the bipolar weather, most places in the world! In this case, we’re excited that it will mean sweater weather will soon be highly inappropriate. Three cheers for that!
In the meantime, we’re smack in the middle of leaving the house with a jacket and probably the car heat on in the morning, and then sweating in the afternoon if you tried to wear said jacket. Speaking of jackets, did you see our post on some great lightweight options, here? No complaints here, just time for creative dressing!
Today’s workwear continues the vibe of our last workwear post(here), as well as our love for Express! They really have gotten the blouses down, and you can tell when they have a true winner, because it returns season after season.
Sidenote, did you know that Express carries Men’s tall dress/casual button up shirts?? My husband has worn and loved them. At 6’8 he’s probably stretching the limits of their heights though, depending on your man’s arm length. Plus they carry slim fit options (win!) because height does not always equate to carrying more weight – looking at you Big & Tall. We put an additional group of tall men’s shirts at the end of the post as well!
But I digress. Caitlin picked up this lovely blouse and while work appropriate, it will keep you far from being boring in your office attire!
Second side note – does anyone else love using these cups as their traveling coffee mug? They’re Caitlin’s favorite!
The shoulder stitching detail makes a strong statement, and the olive green color will be repeatable for many years to come.
Another place we’ve found great updated dress pants is Old Navy! Their pixie pants have been a favorite of Caitlin’s now for many years. I’m partial to the Harpers, with a more relaxed fit. As you can tell with this pair which is the Harper full length; they would probably fit at least 35”.
*Tall Tip* make sure you click for the full details to find out the inseam on their various pants. Some are only going to be long enough for roughly a 35” inseam but I’ve also been lucky and found well-fitting boot cut navy pants there that have to be at least a 37” inseam.
Onto my outfit, I’ve been looking for work pants and after trying options from Banana Republic, Gap AND Express, I ended up ordering from asos, also expecting a strike out. Banana Republic is still a bit short from my inseam, which is odd considering they’re the same company that produces Gap and Old Navy. Gap I just wasn’t feeling thrilled enough to justify the price. Possibly leftover meh feelings from the prior purchase. When I ordered from asos with a coupon, I was holding my breath hoping some would work!
Cue these tie-waist cuffed green beauties. This is my first pair of green work pants and I am smitten. I think it’s all the sweeter, considering how the last pair ended up working better for Caitlin! Something to add, some women like lined pants – these are not lined.
The half tuck is an easy way to class up a sweater for work and this cream sweater was a $3 find on clearance at H&M! The bell sleeves could be slightly longer but already the cost per wear is mere cents!
The leopard flats are oldies and from Nordstrom Rack. If you don’t have one in your area, it is worth checking online as they carry some great options up to size 13! Lately I’ve been having to turn down finds when I go there, have to stay on budget somehow…. But more left for another tall lady to grab!
