(Paper) Bag Up Monday
Here’s to sounding like a broken record, but what a fabulous weekend. You might have caught some of our festivities through our instagram stories, namely the giant pig that was roasted up for our Aunt Susan’s 60th birthday. What a fun filled day of visiting with family and friends we haven’t seen in too long!
Caitlin spent the weekend celebrating one of her best friend’s bridal shower and bachelorette party. Holly looked gorgeous in this beautiful and afordable dress; plus it’s a midi dress for us tall women. They had some beautiful decorations for her shower and enough fun party favors, like these straws to make Holly (the bride) blush! She also found her this adorable sash to wear for their night out. They went to Pin- It Live, a really fun Milwaukee store that helps your Pinterest fantasies become reality!
We also celebrated our Dad’s birthday on Friday, he has been collecting vinyls so I got him this one, this one, this one, and this one. They are the newest by far in his collection now! I also got him this fun themed shirt, which he’ll get lots of use out of soon.
Caitlin found him this awesome Apple watch band, which looks really professional, along with a an extra charger for him to leave at their place up north! She found him this hilarious t-shirt, because he loves to repeat that quote! She also got him a gift card and if you’re from Wisconsin then you already know it and love it, but if you ever visit – you must hit up this place for frozen custard.
Sunday was a slower day, and rightfully so after all the excitement. My husband and I went to see Solo, the new Star Wars movie. It was pretty good but nothing amazing. Our experience was marred by finding out our local movie theater doesn’t do green olives anymore for pizzas and they are my husbands absolutely favorite. The devastation was real.
Onto the good stuff, the outfits. We’ve got two different paper bag waisted outfits for you today, starting with Caitlin’s easy summer grab. She totally didn’t like maxi skirts for a while growing up, but like me, discovered their merits and is hooked!
Especially this paper bag waist style, so easy to wear high waisted and with a crop top or a tucked in shirt. As you can tell, this skirt might be for the smaller talls, unless us tall-talls wear it a bit lower on the waist.
She paired it with her new favorite sandals, they are just so classic and work with most of her closet so easily!
My outfit is a new favorite of mine. It combines the culotte trend with a summery linen fabric that is a bit more casual. They are so stinking comfortable and they kept me cool with the loose wide leg last weekend in sweltering Chicago.
With the paper bag tie waist, it was an easy choice to grab a lightweight tank top and wear it tucked in. I grabbed my summery mules that Caitlin also just wore here, and had the perfect summer outfit!
Tell us below, are you a fan of linen? How do you feel about maxi skirts? We want to hear from you!
