Our Favorite Floral Find
Anyone else feeling the allergy season extra hard this year? Caitlin and I both have been super drowsy and we heard there are/were five different strains of allergens which is way more than typical. We didn’t grow up with allergies, so this has been new to us the past couple of years and very unwelcome.
Just checked The Weather Channel and they have a ranking of the top 100 cities and how challenging their allergy season is, and now I realize we’re just wimps haha, because Milwaukee is number 81! You can check out the article here if you’re interested where your city ranks!
The weekend is coming in hot, and we are ready! Caitlin is headed up north for a fun beer festival she does with our parents and her roommate/best friend and her parents! It looks like the weather will be great, hitting the mid 70’s so they’ll be able to get out on the lake as well! Whenever they head out on the water, we always grab these cups for drinks, as you can add a lid and straw like this one and won’t let your drink get warm! They have smaller sizes as well, for more appropriate sized drinks. We also love Tervis Tumblers. Our family each has a personalized cup with our name on it and we also have the coffee mug option for when we got out for a coffee cruise! This one would be perfect for a Father’s Day gift!
I’m staying in town this weekend, while my husband heads to Vegas for a bachelor party! They’ve got lots of fun stuff planned and he’ll be catching up with friends who are spread across the country. Sunday, I’m last second joining my brothers’ book club down in Chicago. They read this book, which I grabbed from the library quick and devoured. It was a good read, and you don’t have to be interested in sports to enjoy it.
As for our outfits, we found this great floral print at Express! I had been loving all the kimonos I was seeing around and realized I needed one of my own. I’ve been wearing it everywhere, as it is the perfect light layering piece, but it certainly makes a statement. The length was way better than expected as well!
I paired it with a mustard tank I found also at Express and my favorite white distressed denim from Old Navy. I knew I’d be standing in the grass so I chose my sandals more based on comfort. Today I paired it with my mustard pointed toe flats, they really pop against the white jeans!
I wore this recently to my aunt’s 60th birthday party, and it was all good up until I started playing kanjam, and started getting tangled up in the kimono. Anyone else love playing kanjam? Our family loves yard games and I think the long limbs are definitely an asset for this game! We should really invest in this set, so we can play when it gets dark out!
Caitlin had been in search of the perfect summer dress, especially for the bridal shower festivities she just attended, if you remember from our last post here. She didn’t even realize there was the cutest little lace up at the neckline until it arrived.
This is not a tall purchase, but the neck ties, so it is adjustable – because we know not all neck to chest lengths are equal. Plus, with the midi length, any tall girl can feel confident and covered enough to rock it!
Caitlin knew she’d be running around during the bridal shower helping out, so she paired her dress with the same comfortable sandals. Also fun fact, she named the flamingo on the front of her dress!
Express has some other great options for this gorgeous print – in this perfect off the shoulder top, another off the shoulder with a smocked waist and this tie front short sleeve blouse! The options don’t end with just tops, they have this off the shoulder almost maxi dress, this short dress, as well as this romper!
Do you like to brighten up your wardrobe as the temperatures rise? We find we start reaching for more prints when it’s warm out! Here’s a fun pic to send you off with a laugh.
