Back in Black
Hey lovely tall friends! Hope everyone’s week is going well. We’ve been having a busy one, as Caitlin got back Monday evening from up north and we immediately met at the gym for a training session. Right after that, we had a volleyball game and had a “team meal” to use our gift certificate for winning last season. We all stuffed our faces, the money went further than we thought it would!
Caitlin had a fabulous weekend up north hitting up Beer Fest with our parents. She found this shirt on Express for her and my mom. So many people complimented her on it at the festival. They took all the good weather up there and were able to be out on the boat pretty much all day Sunday. They did a coffee cruise AND a cocktail cruise, what could be better!?
I had a great weekend as well; I got to spend some time with my aunt Friday night doing some shopping, we got some Thai food, and we ended with a movie! Saturday I picked up an 8×10 rug for only $25, so excited to put it in our office/library area, the colors work so well and it’s in really good shape! I snagged it off of Facebook Marketplace; does anyone else search obsessively on there?
Sunday I went down to Chicago to participate in my brothers’ new book club. They chose this book, and I really enjoyed it. He wasn’t painted as a super likable guy, but it was fascinating to read everything it took to achieve where the company is at today! He named the book club “Books and Brews,” so we were each in charge of bringing a six pack to share. It was a very fun time and great discussion about the book. Our next book will be this one, it has a ton of good reviews and I am always up for a book about WWII.
We’re looking ahead to this weekend, as we’re planning a Brewer’s tailgate with our dad for Father’s Day! Caitlin recently bought this chair, so she’s excited to use it this weekend. Our Dad asked that we do experiences with him, rather than gifts, so we gladly organized this fun night out at a baseball game!
Hopefully weather permitting this weekend, we will spend actual Father’s Day by the pool. There isn’t a better way to show your Dad or Father figure love than spending time with them! We have been finding the most random but fun pool float options. Caitlin bought this one last year and it is a great size! We fit three people on it, which is great for our length!
Onto these outfits, we wanted to showcase how well Asos does their tall jersey options! Because the fabric is so stretchy, you don’t usually have to worry about the length coming up short.
I gasped when I put this jumpsuit on, because it’s so dang comfortable and slinky. The length is to the floor even with a slight sandal heel. The ruching at the waist is just enough to give a slight shape to it, but still leaves lots of room if you have a big dinner.
Caitlin snagged this maxi dress up really quickly, because it was priced so well. Plus you really won’t regret snagging a classic maxi dress. There’s an added visual interest as the top part of it is a rib material.
She dressed it up with a pretty beaded necklace, but this dress can go either way and will definitely go far in your closet! Any time we find great maxi options, whether they are skirts or dresses, we want to let all our tall sisters know!
Where is your favorite spot to find maxi options? Are there any places that would be a surprise to other tall women? Let us know in the comments!
