It’s Gonna Be a Bright, Bright, Sunshiny Day

It feels like time flew to the Fourth of July week, doesn’t it? It was only yesterday we got our first taste of good weather and now summer is flying by at warp speed. We are feeling good about taking advantage of the great summer weather! Friday night we hit up a local park to play pick up sand volleyball with friends and we all sweated profusely but had fun!

We spent all day Saturday by the pool, helping out with a few chores but jumping in every couple of minutes to cool off. We were powerwashing the cement and there is something so oddly satisfying about that (maybe we’re the only ones who think that). We had a good laugh when Caitlin had this fun gift floating around the pool, while playing the now infamous “scooptity poop” song by Kanye.

I headed down to Summerfest Saturday night with my husband and some friends and we had such an amazing time watching Kaleo perform. They are one of Tim and my favorite bands and they put on a great show! We had our favorite eggplant strips one more time, if you’re ever visiting Summerfest, give them a try! Caitlin went and enjoyed watching her friends band perform Saturday night.

Sunday was a nice slow day, starting with a guest speaker from another local church. It’s always refreshing to hear another pastor’s perspective. We had coffee with friends and then did some grocery shopping/prepping for heading up north this week. All in all a perfect weekend.

I’m going to be living swimsuits up north and Caitlin is going to be living in them in town by the pool! One of my new favorites I got for vacation back in February was this top and this bottom because the tan lines are more like a bra tan line and the bottoms have such a cute cut out! I also love this one and this one in olive green for the same reason. They are probably best suited to smaller busts! Caitlin loves this striped top and bottom we mentioned before. Caitlin also has this suit in tandoori spice. Even though this gives you funky tan lines, it is so cute, especially for larger busts! We also will be rocking our favorite red, white and blue swimsuits – this top is perfect!

Isn’t Caitlin’s floral print dress the cutest! It is the quintessential summer dress in a sunshiny color and the fun dropped peplum hem. It gives you an extra swoosh as you walk around and it can be worn to work with a cardigan or dressed down casually with a jean jacket. If you are have more butt, I would base your size off of that, as you can always add a belt if you need to pull in the waist!

My top might look familiar, from this post but in a different color. What can we say, we like a lot of the same things, and it’s fun because we can trade clothes at the gym and switch up the colors!

I just got these new skinny jeans and I am loving the addition to my closet. They have that rich blue color but are still darker washed; plus they are super comfortable but still suck you in. They are supposed to be ankle length, so I’m happy with the inseam length.
