(W)Rapping About This Tall Dress

We’re back and raring to go on Monday. We hope you had as amazing of a weekend as we did! Tim headed up north to do some snowmobiling with the men in our family, so Caitlin came and spent the weekend with me! Like we mentioned in Friday’s post, we met up with Hailey another blogger friend.

We basically revolved our weekend around getting content shot, and doing any and all girl things we could. Let’s just say we took advantage of our time together. We had some wine, we did our nails, hair and threw on some face masks. Can’t forget to add that we ate some good food too. We both like to try new recipes time permitting, and we had some excellent egg bake and fish tacos. Successful girls weekend all around! It felt great to have fun and chase our goals!

Speaking of chasing dreams, we could not be more excited to do our first feature on a company near and dear to our hearts. There are so many coincidences and connections with these fellow sisters stories, that we couldn’t not love them. It doesn’t hurt anything that they have created some amazing, well-fitting clothing. Without further ado, Amalli Talli!

Two sisters from Minnesota, Amy and Alli, took it upon themselves to fight the good fight for us tall women. Like us, they stand close at 6’4 and 5’10. They GET US. Clearly they know the pain of finding well fitting clothing, because they have lived it themselves. Who better to design and hand select pieces than someone who benefits from them!?

They take the fight to heart, and that’s what we need! No more trying to add an inch or two on the bottom of a piece and calling it tall. It’s all in the details, like making sure our broader than mainline shoulders have space to breathe. Realizing that just because your shoulders are broader, doesn’t mean you’re bigger in the chest and waist. Y’all you don’t realize how much you need and appreciate these items, until you try them yourself.

First up, we have the Beverly wrap dress, which you can find here! Talk about a classic piece. If you’ve been following along for awhile now, you hopefully get that vibe from my style. I like a classy look, love to feel elegant and put together. This dress totally fits the bill. The sleeve length is there! Like I mentioned above, it fits well in the shoulders.

The smaller details are covered in this dress. Not one second was spent worrying about an accidental flash, as is the case with wrap dresses. There is a loop through one side securing it closed, and an additional loop to keep the tie in the correct spot on your *gasp* actual waist.

I’m so excited to have this dress. It is modest enough that I can wear it to work, especially given the higher neckline. Plus the ruffle detail at the bottom! I love me some ruffles. Anytime I spot them, my heart sings! Suffice to say, this dress and I will have a long and happy life together. It’s a tall girls dream. The last thing I’ll leave here, is that it’s on major sale for under $35. Good luck checking out without snagging some other pieces though!

I paired the dress with some black tights, because Wisconsin Winter. I styled it as I would for work, which meant adding some ankle booties I received as a gift from my Mom from Nordstrom Rack. I carried my Madewell Tote, which is such a high quality bag. Lastly, I found the three pack of layered necklaces from H&M on clearance and I’ve been wearing them nonstop.

Stay tuned to see Caitlin wear it in the future, for all our smaller talls out there. Let us know if you appreciate seeing both of us in an item, and we can definitely continue that! Hopefully y’all like the new series of pictures we were able to shoot indoors. Like I mentioned Friday, we found this light ring, and it allows us to get great shots indoors. That’s been something we’ve struggled with, being in the Midwest and dealing with bad weather. Hope your week is off to a fabulous start. Go slay tall sisters!
