This Dress Was (Custom) Made For Me

I know you’ve heard me casually say “I feel like this was made for me” before. But this time I really mean it, because it was! We first shared this company last summer when Jenilee got to get acquainted with eShakti custom made clothing. If you missed that one you can see it here. As you know, we always like to keep it real so to be transparent they did send us an invite to create all of these items but all of the following opinions are completely our own. 

Reason number one we love this company? True Size Inclusivity

Measurements Guide

I feel like that is enough back story on eShakti’s custom made clothing idea to at least help you through the door. So now I would love to walk you through my experience. You’ll need a measurement tape to grab appropriate measurements. I had no issues following along their guide and which measurements I needed. I also added mine to a spreadsheet because I am notorious for allowing Jenilee to enable me in storing my size info. If someone asks for my inseam she is much more likely to know the answer then me. Sister things, am I right? 

Once I had my measurements I started filtering away and looking at all the beautiful dresses to narrow down what I was looking for. I stuck to my normal protocol of sending every single option to Jenilee and reviewing every single one she sent my way also. (if you don’t have someone to do this with and ever want an opinion you know where to find us) Once we narrowed it down to the two I was going to try, I entered my measurements (which I will gladly drop below for anyone to reference, hopefully that’s helpful?) 

Customization Options

I had a blast playing around with the necklines, sleeve lengths, and body length. It’s really fun to see how it can completely change the look of a dress. I am a super visual person, so this was an invaluable tool for me. With this option it makes it an even more approachable company to all types of people because you can get as modest or risqué as you want!

Shipping Times

Once I placed my order the dresses shipped in under two weeks. Coming from someone who has sewn garments, this is impressive! They both showed up a lot sooner than I expected and I was so happy to see them. I sent Jenilee a picture in both of them and all I had to say was “I feel really pretty.” That isn’t a super common phrase for me to outwardly share or say in general which I feel like is typical for a lot of women. Which makes me sad, but also society makes it hard sometimes. Especially when you are part of a niche market of body type. 

Dress Quality

The quality was phenomenal, the fit was great and I love them! Both of them are fully lined and I cannot wait to wear them out and about. If you’re looking for a dress for an upcoming graduation, graduation party, bridal or baby shower etc we highly recommend giving them a shot! You may be wondering what happens if you don’t love your custom made clothing… If you’re not happy they aren’t happy.
