It might be safe to say that Spring has sprung! We’ve been enjoying the lovely temperatures here in Wisconsin, as well as the flowers blooming. It feels like the perfect time to share another amazing tall brand with you. Meet American Tall Clothing! While they aren’t very new, the more exciting part is their launch within the last year of women’s apparel. We are thrilled to be able to try out a variety of the new pieces and share them with you.

They originally launched as a men’s only online retail store. Having a tall husband, I was excited to see a company that was creating pieces for the “tall” only market instead of the ubiquitous big AND tall shops. It still might surprise some people to learn that they aren’t mutually exclusive. Sarcasm aside, we will always be excited about new tall clothing companies filling voids in the market and American Tall is reading the room quite well!

It makes complete sense, given their brand beginnings. The group worked for other brands over the years and pleaded with their bosses to include tall clothing in the discussion to no avail. Instead of giving up, American Tall was born to represent the underdogs or little guys as they like to say. It resonates with our mission so well, of not settling for ill-fitting clothing and speaking up for brands to include Tall in their so-called inclusive fashion.

Two Tall Lengths

Tall companies are working smarter these days, realizing that Tall still covers a pretty wide range of height. Hence the reason we were also excited to start The Real Tall three years ago. Caitlin representing the first “tier” of tall women and me (Jenilee) represents the upper tier. So it makes our hearts sing to see American Tall offer two different lengths for their garments, tall or extra tall. If you’re 5’9-6’1 you’d choose tall and 6’2 and above you would choose extra tall (this is the women’s size chart only).

So what will you find on American Tall’s website? Tall necessities at reasonable prices!! Is it weird how elusive that can feel as a tall woman? It often feels like, hey you want to dress in clothing that fits you like everyone else? Great, then you can pay double or triple the price. Not the case with American Tall

Tall Button Up Shirts

Take their Tencel button up shirt that Caitlin tried out. She’s wearing it in a size Large Tall. It is only $49, which is the same cost as an unnamed big retailer’s tall section we shop. Where American Tall clearly pulls away is offering the second tier of tall! Normally you’d see a cost add for this necessity for those of us on the longer end of tall. A big pet peeve of ours is often sizing up for our shoulders in order to fit a button up shirt. This shirt fits in the shoulders/arms quite nicely! Plus unlike other button ups, when they offer the rolled up sleeve option this one is not mandatory. Meaning the sleeve length is spot on and we don’t have to pretend it’s long enough by wearing it ¾ sleeve length.

Tall Denim

Same deal for the denim, it is offered in a couple of different rises and washes for versatility. American Tall offers 35 AND 37 inseam for their skinny jeans. Caitlin tried their high rise skinny jean in classic blue size 29×35. They describe it as a high stretch especially from other reviews and suggest sizing down. We’d say stick with your regular size from her experience, especially as the fit was a bit tight through the knee/calf, which might be more based on your shape. So if you’re athletic/curvy like us, take note!

Tall Sweat Suits

When American Tall first started their women’s clothing line, I remember seeing their sweat suits and loving them. So of course I had to choose a sweat suit when this collaboration came to fruition! Especially during pregnancy, I value comfort above all else. I chose to stick with my regular size Large and did their Extra Tall length and the sizing was perfect as the sweat suit is intended to be an oversized fit.

I am not exaggerating when I tell you I have been LIVING in this sweat suit since I’ve received it. I’m not going to even say it has to do with my pregnancy. Although it is one of the few things that I’m supremely comfortable with these days. This is a high quality sweat suit. It takes me right back to my college basketball days of running around campus in sweats every day between practice and class. The difference? These sweat suits are well-fitting for tall people. I don’t have to size up to try to eke up an extra inch or two.

What is encouraging is watching them follow through on their expansion plans. So as of this spring, you can really tell American Tall is a retailer we can count on. They added denim skirts AND shorts. It bears repeating, they offer two lengths! I can’t tell you how many tall mini skirts I’ve tried on at 6’4 and still felt over exposed. Plus they launched a couple of dresses in several colorways, including this stunning maxi dress! As well as these layering tanks under the $20 price point.

WIN a $100 gift card to American Tall

In summary, American Tall is a company we are excited about! We’re plotting our next purchase from them in some of their brighter layers they just released for Spring/Summer. We know sometimes it can be scary to make a purchase from a new company but rest assured their website is well-designed with tons of size chart information AND plenty of customer reviews. As an even better bonus, we are running a giveaway on our Instagram for a $100 gift card to shop American Tall, head over there ASAP to enter!

We feel like we’ve been spoiled lately with all the shoe companies we’ve gotten to introduce you to recently! I definitely teased y’all in the Large Shoe Guide about this company (click here to browse through our options). Luckily we won’t make you wait any longer to hear about Lonia Shoes! As we’ve all experienced, there are still gaps in the market for women with big feet. Lonia large size shoes carry some epic options!

It can be quite painful (literally and figuratively) to hunt for shoes for an event. Or even just your everyday life and come up short. Lonia large size Shoes wanted to fill in the gap with fashionable and on trend shoes for women with large feet. Upon discovering them, we agreed that they have already accomplished this by browsing their colorful quality options!

We love to see the sandals offered in five different colorways, like their braided block heels. Clearly, they’re hitting the market where we’ve struggled to find shoe options that will keep us looking fierce but also can wear regularly! Covering sizes US 10-15, I think we all can breathe a sigh of relief for their inclusivity.

Emilia Sandals

So of course when it came time for me to choose my pair of shoes, I went with the Emilia in my usual size 13. Which might completely contradict the “regular wear” statement from above. Honestly though, when and where else can I get my hands on a pair of statement shoes in my size?! I basically was obligated to snatch them up, they’re like unicorn shoes.

I fell hard for the big bow design. Emilia is super luxe looking, and I already have plans for them for all the events ahead as our social calendars can hopefully start filling up again soon! Things I love are the square toe, and the luxe black satin. Plus, sitting at a 3 inch heel is my sweet spot for walking around normally and comfortably.

I was a little concerned at first ordering these shoes while 9 months pregnant. But despite the sleek stiletto heel, Emilia feels very sturdy for the extra baby weight I’m carrying around. Do note, that if you have a wider foot the heel of this shoe isn’t super wide but the front toe area does have some extra room for those with a wide toe box area!

It is pretty difficult to feel fierce and fabulous this far into a pregnancy but luckily Lonia Shoes came through for me with their Emilia’s. I love their take on the dye sole, the yellow is a very cool touch that sets the shoes apart. Plus they show up with a beautiful shoe bag. So when you’re not wearing them, you can safely tuck them away to protect those beautiful bows.

Check out Lonia Shoe’s site for their other options, which does include flat sandals if they are more your speed! The versatility of their options will blow you away! Just because you have large feet, doesn’t mean you need to be limited in your shoe options. It also doesn’t mean you should choose boring shoes. You already know as a tall woman, people give you the up and down look to “verify” you actually are that tall. Why not give them the most stylish, colorful, fun pair of shoes to check out while they’re down there!

Lonia Discount Code

We can’t wait to shop with Lonia again, and to see what other fun options they’ll release in the future. Rest assured you’ll be seeing them on the blog again. Click here to shop their site and use code JENILEE20 for $20 off your first pair of shoes.

Outside of the obvious reason that we’re here( tall clothes!) I think our other highest requested item is shoes, shoes, shoes. Where do we find large size shoes is something we constantly see in our DMs. We were thrilled at how well our Tall Denim roundup went so we thought we may as well round up all the large size shoe companies in one place for you as well. We will include pictures as we can, for companies we have tried their shoes out!

For reference our shoe sizes are 13 for Jenilee and 11.5 for Caitlin. At this point we don’t think an 11.5 exists so I usually either have to smoosh in a little bit or size up and my heel is constantly popping out. And before we get any further-no, we will not sell you pictures of our feet.  Shop our favorite large size shoe companies below.

Amazon

We have mentioned our Amazon storefront page intermittently, but wanted to provide a link to it for reference here. Scrolling through Amazon for shoes can be overwhelming, to put it mildly. You might feel like you’re sifting through a lot of trash to find treasure. We’ve done the work for you and linked many large size shoes for easier shopping for you! Plus they are up to size 15!

Nordstrom

Our Mom also wears size 13 shoes so we had a leg up on figuring out where to shop for large size shoe companies. Luckily Nordstrom has been around for a long time and has been known for carrying shoes up to size 13 and some even beyond. Of course, they are/can be on the pricier side. The old adage stands, you get what you pay for and when you’re spending the money typically the quality backs it up with our previous purchases!

Nordstrom Rack

Nordstrom’s less expensive sister store, it originally started to move older merchandise or off season merchandise out of Nordstrom. Now it’s somewhat similar to a TJ Maxx, where they manufacture shoes specifically at a lower cost/quality. We do the bulk of our on trend shoe purchasing at The Rack. They also have a website with some of their offerings available but if you can visit in person, that is usually more of the treasure trove. Up to size 13 in our experiences.

Payless

As we all know, our reduced options mean we end up paying more for less variety. Growing up, we relied on Payless as our shoe sizes continued to jump. As I’m preparing to become a parent I’m already envisioning all the money associated with growing kids! Thankfully after filing bankruptcy and closing all of their stores, Payless is making a comeback. So far, they have very reduced offerings but we are hopeful they will continue to ramp up their styles to include larger sizes so they can continue to be included in our large size shoe companies list.

NYAS

We are always ecstatic to see new large size shoe companies pop up and especially when their price point can be under $100! Check out our collaboration with NYAS, here for the full write up on their amazing on trend shoes. I (Jenilee) did try out another pair of their boots but found them to run too small, so I’ll have to try sizing up to 14 and see if we can get another secondary review on the blog! They do go up to size 15, so they definitely are covering as many of us leggy ladies as possible and we will be forever grateful!

Coix

If you’re proud to be tall, and love to confidently rock high quality heels, Coix should be your go-to! We both have shoes from Coix and have gotten SO. MUCH. WEAR. out of them. Cost per wear should always be in the equation when debating whether to purchase shoes. The value is there and then some with Coix and we have sung their praises many times before. Check out our posts here and here for more! They offer sizes 11-13.

Otto & Ivy

Before launching Otto & Ivy, Laura used to do her own tall blogging. Having followed her for years before getting started on our own blog, we knew her company would cover all the integral shoes we were missing in our closet. Since the launch last year, she has designed some ridiculously amazing shoes. I finally got my first pair via my husband for my birthday and I am itching to get my hands on many, many more! She takes customer feedback very seriously and is already planning ahead to include wide widths and expand her sizing.

Long Tall Sally

We’ve heard a ton of feedback from ladies wondering and worrying if LTS is going to bring back their original size offering, now that they’ve relaunched. We watched their last Q&A Instagram live and good news, they are! In the meantime, we all just need to stretch our patience. I think it’s important to realize, although they’re the same name it is a new company. Therefore it’s ill advised to hold them to the same standards of the previous owners. We can’t speak to their new offerings, as we haven’t tried them yet but we’re optimistic that they will rise up to fill another void for large shoe sizes!

Lonia Shoes

Although they have been around since 2015, they haven’t been on our radar of large size shoes companies until recently. Lonia has some seriously fun designs and colorful shoes because having large feet shouldn’t equate to boring! PLUS, they serve sizes 10-15, so all of us should be close to covered with that beautiful size range. Lastly, they seem to have the range versatility of fab flats, as well as some killer high heels. I (Jenilee) have my first pair on the way and cannot wait to share them with you! Plus we are super excited to share the coupon code for $20 off your first pair using JENILEE20.

Rothy’s

You may have seen these shoes floating around our page regularly at this point. We are partial to their Chelsea style, which is like a sneaker version of the popular boot cut. Their vision was founded on transforming eco-friendly materials into machine washable styles. They are not only comfortable, but they will last you forever! We’ve got a coupon code for you for $20 off your first pair here. I will note that some of the pointed toe styles ended up running small on me, but happy to answer any sizing questions!

Low Heels

Joanna Scott started Low Heels to fill a void in her own closet, forever being on the hunt for 2 inch heeled shoes in her size. They offer sizes 7-12UK which is up to size US 13 or 14 depending on what size chart you’re comparing! They are made to order shoes, which allows for some really fun customizations to help make your shoes your new favorite. She is always happy to answer any customer questions, which helps take the guesswork out of online shoe shopping. Plus she is looking into expanding her shoe sizes, so if you have been searching her site, submit your measurements if you wear larger than a US13!

SAE London

Another new footwear company steps on the scene, pun intended. Started by Sylvie, as she wears a size 10UK/12 US she feels our struggle daily! She already has launched some epicly luxe slippers and we were lucky enough to try them out. They fit true to size and we are anxiously awaiting what she will drop for footwear in the future! Look for a separate blog post on SAE London in the immediate future!

Cinderella Shoes

Offering size US10-US15, Cinderella Shoes is another great option. They have pages and pages of options and a pretty wide price range to cover everyone’s budget. You might recognize some of the brands carried there and you might discover some fun new favorites!

DSW

Unbeknownst to me, DSW goes up to size 15US. The caveat being, the size 15’s are basically only sneakers, as well as for size 14. I will say, after perusing the site I was decently impressed with their size 13 options and will likely check out the site next time I’m shopping. Caitlin has bought some reasonable shoes there before and I’ve always been jealous (because those specific pairs don’t come in my size). Here’s an opportunity for a larger shoe retailer to offer more variety in their larger sized shoes!

Smash Shoes

Smash burst onto the scene to refresh our lifeless, boring large shoe options. They offer size US 10-14 AND are also including wide width options for any of our tall plus sized ladies on the hunt for knee high boots. They aren’t afraid of offering some exciting colors or a good sized heel. If this sounds like what you’ve been missing, go check out their fantastic shoes!

Santewade

Based out of England, Sante Wade offers a sizable selection of high quality shoes in size US7 to US13.5. They have some bold heels, as well as classic loafers and everything in between. They use high quality materials, so you know you’re buying a shoe made to last! Plus, they do free shipping with the purchase of two pairs of shoes.

Target

Target confidently covers up to size US 12. While I was researching for this post, I realized they had about 21 pairs of size US 13 women’s shoes. What a pleasant surprise! As I kept digging I kept coming across reviews for the inexpensive sandals I was eyeing up. About half were adamant you needed to size up, as they ran small. With that in mind, I might have to try out a pair for myself and give final judgement on whether size 13’s need to continue to look elsewhere! Caitlin has found some great pairs of shoes there before, but neither of us shop Target regularly enough to say much more.

Zappos

Another huge site for online shopping, they carry a bunch of different well known brands. Using the filter for size 13+ Zappos show almost 2,000 options. Now take that with a grain of salt depending what you’re looking for. But if you filter down based on size and other preferences, you should be able to find out pretty quickly if they have what you need.

Tresolz

Brand new Canadian shoe store, Tresolz has burst onto the scene with some fun shoe options. They currently have 12 pairs of shoes up on their site but are getting ready to launch their Spring 2021 preorders. Worth noting, Tresolz offers a couple of their pairs in two different heel heights, 3 inches or 4 inches. I know for some ladies this makes all the difference in comfort, ourselves included! We’ll be watching their new releases closely!

Shoes.com

Very similar offerings to Zappos, Shoes.com is a large online site. At size 13 there are 681 options but moving to size 14 it drops to 100 options. There is an odd standard for what types of shoes end up being available in larger sizes, IE Dr Martens, orthopedic looking shoes, and heavy duty construction type boots. Lots of room for improvement here!

Franco Sarto

Do you ever stumble upon something and need it in every single color? This has happened to us with Franco Sarto shoes. Whether it be booties, flats or loafers they are always extremely comfortable, fit well, and are made beautifully. We have both added these flats to our collection and one of us may have them in FIVE colors (cough cough Caitlin). They are the perfect pointed toe to add some class, sass, and style into any outfit. They offer up to a size 13 and run a bit big so they suggest to order a half a size down if possible. Otherwise fine to stick with regular sizing.

Tiosebon

We shared Tiosebon for the first time last year and honestly they have the comfiest slip on sneakers we’ve personally ever worn. I can say with honesty I wear these every day at minimum to and from the gym. They are easy to slip on and off and did I mention before how comfortable they are? They feel like socks. Plus at $20 they are super reasonable, so you already know I have them in several colors. Lastly, they are committed to recycling and reuse plastic water bottles to make their shoes.

Vionic Shoes

Although they only go to size 12, Vionic has some great quality shoes. They are known for their great support, and I know as tall women we sometimes end up with certain health issues so we might need more supportive shoes than the average person. We’ve shared their shoes with you before, here and here. Plus, we’re lucky enough to have an actual Vionic retail store in town, so we can go try them on (crazy I know!). If you don’t have that option, they also have some of their selection available now on Shoes.com listed above!

Let us know below, are any of these large size shoe companies new to you? Did we miss any large size shoe companies that deserve inclusion on this list?

We’re back today to share some tall friendly maternity dresses! It’s always been wonderful to see women’s maternity pictures with their beautiful bellies and glowing faces in anticipation of meeting their babies’. However, with a recent job switch for my husband, I just didn’t see us spending the money to have them done. Luckily for me, Caitlin to the rescue! Who better than your blog running sister who takes all your other pictures, am I right?!

I wanted to share a couple of the tall friendly maternity dresses I shopped on Amazon that ended up being long enough. It took me long enough to sift through all of the reviews. Hoping I can save you a little bit of time and energy, it would make my day! I ordered four dress options none of which are tall sizes. It was a gamble but I felt like I read enough reviews and saw enough customer pictures to try them out. Plus Amazon makes returning very easy so I didn’t worry about getting stuck keeping them.

Amazon Finds

So I ordered all in a size Large. The Saslax Maternity red maxi was the only one that went all the way to the floor. I ended up preferring the silhouette of the JustVH brand red maxi and chose that one instead. The mustard lace maxi was just skimming the floor for me at 6’4. But I didn’t love it compared to the red options. All of the dresses shared come in lots of different color choices as well! I just loved the idea of doing red.

The green dress is a great option for any of you tall momma’s-to-be in need of some Summer casual dresses. It hits me right about the knee and is just a nice jersey feel. My only concern is with my raging pregnant hormones recently. I tend to sweat in my undercarriage aka butt sweat LOL. Honestly, I’m relieved to not be a pregnant sweating mess in the humid Wisconsin summer. I already am and it’s not even warm outside haha.

All of the tall friendly maternity dresses are shoppable and linked by the graphic below! Please let me know if you have any questions I can help out on! Also check out my other maternity posts, here and here.

I’m officially 35 weeks! And… feeling the effects of poor sleep and SI joint pain when I walk around. But in much more exciting news, I got my first pair of official tall maternity denim from Elevated Closet and I am ecstatic about it! We’ve talked to you about Elevated Closet several times before and teased the tall maternity denim coming soon. Well they are here now and not a moment too soon for tall pregnant women!

Elevated Closet Tall Maternity Denim

I have been sharing about my tall non-maternity denim I am still able to wear up to this point. But consider me a total convert and let me convince you that you should invest in at least one pair of Elevated Closet tall maternity denim. This bootcut pair from Elevated Closet. Anyone who has bought maternity jeans is probably laughing and nodding their head at my naivety of hoping I’d get through pregnancy without buying a pair. All you have to do is try them on once and the difference in comfort would put you over the edge.

There isn’t much better than having the belly band gently rest almost at the top of your bump. Especially comparing it to a regular jean waistband that digs into your bump a bit and doesn’t lay right because it’s not actually a maternity jean. *PLUS* beyond it being a belly band, there is an adjustable sliding button tab at the top, because we all end up having different sized bumps. That was another thing I was ignorant about before my pregnancy: how the belly band stays up on your ever growing bump!

I had to share first about my excitement about my first belly band experience but honestly no detail was missed with the rest of the denim either. Boot cut denim can be a polarizing cut, but there is nothing to dislike about this pair. The fabric still has some stretch to it, but it skims over my curves while still maintaining a professional enough shape I am proud to wear for my couple of days in office.

Topping my list of necessities these days is comfort to no one’s surprise. It is just now reaching the temperature levels in Wisconsin where I can consider reaching for dresses. I still think everyone needs at least one pair of maternity denim in their wardrobe. Plus, I can tell you I will be wearing these jeans up until I give birth! They cover all my wants and needs.

Tall Maternity Denim Sizing

As far as sizing, I am normally between a 10/12 for denim. I ended up sticking with the 10’s and would tell anyone between sizes to size down. Jordan has a great size chart available on the site as well, so make sure you check that. She is super responsive to any questions before purchasing. Also worth noting, this pair of denim is the second iteration she has produced for maternity jeans. The first pair still has some sizes left up on the site and is on sale. If you don’t have quite the inseam I do (38” to the floor) then you could easily check out the other pair. She did add an inch to the updated version.

While you’re checking out the site, have a look at their tops, available in regular and plus sized! We have shared about them before, here! They work for both maternity and regular wear, plus everything is very reasonably priced. She’s also running a promotion that if you buy two tops you get a third free (used code B2G1). I am always on the hunt for great layering tanks.

Let us know below if you’ve shopped Elevated Closet for any of your maternity needs! Also if you have any questions we can help out on!
