A lot of you might already be perusing Lululemon’s site, knowing you can find certain items that will fit. For those of you that didn’t already know this, we’re here to help you shop Lululemon tall clothing! We also will hopefully shed light on a few new key items to check out as well. Check out our original post on Lululemon here, and also for a few funny pictures to giggle at!

Align Legging

Our top pick would have to be the align leggings. They are available in 31 inch inseam, which works wonderfully for my 38 inch to the floor inseam. The Aligns are our most worn casual leggings. We grab for them first when traveling, and also on errand days when you want to look put together without actually involving effort. For sizing reference, I normally wear 10/12 in bottoms and size 8 is my go-to for the Aligns. Definitely size down maybe two sizes, these have A LOT of stretch. The 31″ inseam is golden for our Lululemon tall clothing needs.

Wunder Under Leggings

The Wunder Under are the first pair of leggings I bought when I won a giftcard. I also need to mention that I wore these leggings throughout my pregnancy and was resigned to them not being wearable after, but the spandex in them recovered! That pair is like 5 years old. They are super pants and worth the “investment.”

Scuba Hoodie

Along the same lines of the Align leggings, this hoodie is the way to go to update your sweats collection. That is an ongoing discussion amongst friends/family. At what point is it socially unacceptable to go out in public wearing grungy sweats? The limit does not exist! (jk I wanted to make a Mean Girls reference). At some point you don’t want people to catch you out looking like a slob. This sweatshirt is it, for me. I’ve always been a hoodie lover and in college you could catch me slinking around campus with my hood up all the time. The Scuba hoodie is my grown-up option. I have it in red and wear it to/from the gym and also out and about! The sleeves offer an extremely generous length that allow for us tall girls to wear our thumb holes too!

Track That Mid-Rise Lined Shorts 5’

Our athletic thighs fit perfectly in these shorts, which doesn’t happen often! Plus the inseam hits the sweet spot at 5 inches. Honorable mention goes to the wide elastic waistband which lays very comfortably. The only possible thing to improve on this design would be to make them high waisted. But hey, if that’s all we have to settle on, then we’re quite happy! You’re going to want to keep a close watch on these shorts though, because they have a habit of selling out VERY quickly. We are wearing a size 12, so a size up from normal and two sizes up from our lulu leggings.

Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Shirt 2.0

This long sleeve is one of our initial loves from Lululemon. It’s a great athletic fabric that we like to wear during warm ups in the cooler months. It has the thumbholes if you’re wearing outdoors whether it be running or hiking. The body length is great and goes well over our hips. We have bought both 10 and 12. I don’t think there is enough noticeable difference so go with your regular size! Also, we’ve tried the Swiftly Tech race length if you don’t need or prefer the extra body length. I think the sleeves are a bit shorter on that version, just worth noting. Still a great length on Caitlin at 5’11 but not quite there for me at 6’4. It is worth noting that the swiftly tech tank tops are equally as wonderful and the same review goes for the race length.

Define Jacket

This jacket is super figure flattering, and another piece of Lululemon’s we reach for in the airport regularly. It also has the thumbholes, which still reach long enough for us to actually put to use. I bought this jacket in a size 12. The size 12 gives it a little bit of extra shoulder room for me. It hugs close to the body for a nice fitted look. It is supposed to hit at the hip, but for me, it ends right above the hip. There are so many great color options so your only problem will be narrowing down your favorite! We both have it in several colors and also love to wear to and from the gym!

Align High Rise Biker Shorts

Our Mom (who is 6’2) swears by these biker shorts for running. She is partial to the Bermuda length (10 inches) but they are also available in 6 or 8 inch length. They stay put while running and are the same lightweight align fabric as the leggings!

Energy Longline Bra

We know you don’t necessarily need a sports bra to come in tall but also yes you kind of do. These offer the right shoulder to underbust fit and the long line adds in some next length if you want to wear just a sports bra with leggings without showing too much off. It offers great support and coverage for Caitlin’s fuller C cup.

Ebb to Street Tank

Another tank that offers a little bit of a different feel than the swiftly tech. It typically is offered with a ribbed texture and all the extra length in the bottom. This one also comes with a built in shelf bra so if you are good with light support you can skip the bra!

Fast and Free High Rise

These are also an easy favorite for Caitlin. The material is buttery soft yet thick and compressed enough to keep you feeling held in. Most of them also offer pockets which you know we love. They are perfect for all of our boot camp needs. These workout tights come in 28 length, which as mentioned above still hits at ankle length for Jenilee at 6’4.

Pack it Down Jacket and Vest

Caitlin has both of these. The Vest body length is good for both of us. The jacket, I can’t speak to the length working for 6’4 but Caitlin has long arms so it might work if you’re under 6’4!

Down For it All Jacket

MEN’S OPTIONS

The Commission Pant

If you have tall men in your life that you care anything about, these are the work pants they NEED. They come in a 37 inch inseam and are professional looking, while still maintaining a ridiculous comfort level. My husband, our Dad, and our brother absolutely love these pants and would wear ONLY them going forward to work.

Commission Shorts

Also available in multiple inseams, with the same comfortable fit as the pants. The beauty of this material lies in it’s ability to make you look business appropriate while maintaining an unheard of level of comfort (as if you were in loungewear).

ABC Pants

The ABC pants are designed to replace your jeans, so if you’re looking for a more casual pant these are also up to 37 inseam and just as comfortable. For anyone unfamiliar ABC stands for “anti ball crushing.” LOL

Mens Polos

Our 6’8 brother loves their polos, and the body length works well on him. They are breathable, which is a must for him!

City Sweat Jogger in Tall

Both Caitlin and our Dad have these (men’s) joggers. They have several inseam lengths, up to 32″. Don’t let the mens description deter you, they still fit great for women!

License to Train Jogger

These joggers don’t have an actual inseam on them but in the product description they are designed to fit above the ankle for 32-34 inch inseam.

It was super exciting to hear after sharing my pregnancy news how many of you are also expecting! Makes me feel like I’m not alone, stumbling through. Being 6’4 and pregnant is a little different than the average woman as many of you already have experienced. The bump is finally starting to show at just over halfway through. While this can be totally welcome for still fitting into your regular clothing for a longer time, it’s also disconcerting to be looking for your body to change and barely seeing much of anything for months! As I start showing, I’m on the hunt for tall maternity friendly leggings.

I made the joke on Instagram that it looked like I was visiting the buffet regularly for (I felt like) the longest time instead of having an “ideal” baby bump. I know, I know that ideal is not a thing but I think when you envision it in your mind it can be a bit of a let down of expectation vs reality. Just sharing a bit of the behind the scenes mindset shift that pregnancy has been for me. A lot of women look forward to this time, and I include myself in that but until your body is changing you don’t really know how you’ll react!

The biggest thing I’ve been grateful for as the changes have started is that I could continue to work out! It has kept me feeling like myself as I continue to sweat but also give myself grace as it gets a bit more difficult to move as easily as before. Secondarily and a nice part (if there was a nice part) of COVID is being home much more than usual. That just means I don’t have to fill my closet with a bunch of pieces for events that I might not get a ton of use out of.

Belly Belts

A favorite purchase so far has been my Belly Belts. I’ve been able to continue to wear my regular jeans with a longer sweater to cover that my pants are unzipped. Also a big shout out to being pregnant in the Winter months, very underrated so far haha. Click here for the link. If you’re just squeaking past being able to button up your jeans then these should prolong the life of them. They come in two lengths. So far I’ve been using the smaller belly band. I should be able to get away with another at least month or so before switching.

I think one of the more elusive pieces tall women search for through pregnancy are pants. Myself included in that. I bought a two pack of tall maternity leggings from ASOS. kept them because they were $13 but realistically they are a bit sheer. As I don’t have a ton of butt covering tops or sweaters I don’t know how much use I’ll get out of them. Plus they aren’t THAT stretchy either. Quite the glowing review, huh.

Tall Long and Curvy Leggings

As for leggings that have been my best friends, nothing changes for Tall Long and Curvy being champions in my closet! Chelsey’s leggings are like butter and have STILL been my go-to leggings during pregnancy. When we first tried TLC leggings out we went with size large. Since we’ve gone on and bought like every single color and multiples of colors as well, we’ve realized we could definitely wear size medium.

Tall Maternity Friendly Leggings

Having plenty of pairs of larges at this point is perfect for pregnancy. I highly recommend these tall maternity friendly leggings if you haven’t tried them already. PLUS, she’s been getting some samples of yoga type leggings to launch. You already know they are guaranteed to be just as incredible. The pairs we have (and are on the site) are all more workout style leggings. But no one will look at you twice if you have zero plans to workout either LOL.

Oh yea, and a little birdy let us try on some jean samples that will be launching in the future. Someone who makes good leggings knows how to pick some bomb jeans for our tall curvy bodies. Get those wallets prepped, that’s all we’re saying. Oh yea, and there will be a restock of the OG black leggings as well with two different lengths. You can thank us later when you’re living in them (like us).

We’re back y’all. I think we’re all in agreement that the last two weeks of holidays were no man’s land as far as remembering which day it was or being our most productive selves. The brief hiatus from posting on the blog has been refreshing, to say the least. We’re glad to be back to share with you the best workout leggings from Tall Long and Curvy and hope you noticed the absence as well, as it means you care! Today we’re sharing more of an opinion post if you have to define it. To be clear, all of our posts are just that: our opinions. It’s our page and based on our personal experiences so it would be difficult to be anything other than ourselves when sharing with you. That’s also the basis of our name – the “real” tall. We’re not here to sugarcoat things for you either.

Today that means being passionate about certain topics. Over the last couple of weeks, we were each gifted a pair of workout leggings from Tall Long and Curvy. we’d been anxiously anticipating. We’d wondered if they were too good to be true based on the price point alone, but were happy to test them out. Once we received them and tried them on, we were smitten. Actually, Caitlin received the package and put them on first. She immediately sent me a text saying that I was going to die over the leggings. At that, I was thinking – hand them over ASAP! So once I got my pair and put them on, I was elated at the fit, the length, the details, all of it. From there we were plotting to buy many, many more pairs, as long as Tall Long and Curvy was in business. They are so good that our mom even ordered two pairs upon us receiving ours.

A few days later, I saw that Chelsea, the owner of Tall Long and Curvy had shared a post on the Facebook group for buy/sell/trade tall women’s clothing. To sum it up, it was letting women know that a new retailer was available to buy workout leggings. Apparently, that was frowned upon, because the next day as I was scrolling Facebook, I saw an additional post apologizing for the previous post. It took me a second to understand what was going on, but as it dawned on me I grew more and more irate. It’s considered bad form or inappropriate to share your company within the group. This is perplexing to me, considering most women browsing within the group confines are already desperate for answers on where to find x, y, z items.

As I thought about it more, I reflected on how long I had been a member of that group and not once self-promoted our blog. That’s despite the fact that most of the questions people are asking have been covered repeatedly within this URL. I didn’t want to appear pushy or all about us when the point of the whole blog is to assist tall women! How ironic indeed. Which led me back to how closely this paralleled Chelsea’s experience. She created a company of ridiculously amazing fairly priced leggings for the sole purpose of helping tall women not have to pay a premium (which is a constant thorn in our sides) for well-fitting garments. Instead of getting thanks, it was more like “take this down.”

Ladies, we’ve been crying out for leggings this good and fairly priced to make their way to the market. I’ve worn them to work out several times and I cannot emphasize how good they felt, no matter how I was moving. They have the high-waist, which is a requirement for Caitlin and me at this point. There are two pockets, for anyone in need of keeping their phone or a key or whatever you need on your person. They are long enough, and the hip to waist ratio is spot on. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but we all need to share our good finds by shouting as long and as loud as we can until all of our fellow tall sisters can easily find clothing.

We’re constantly surprised by someone telling us they haven’t heard about a company that carries tall clothing. It tells us that the job is nowhere near done, on our part. All we can do is keep answering any of your questions until you feel equipped to shop successfully! That’s what brings us joy and that’s why seeing this exchange brought our spirits down in a major way. We’ll never be exclusive to any one tall company because all of them deserve to be shared. Within the sisterhood of tall women, we all have our different flavor preferences. We haven’t found a company that covers everyone’s yet – so there is room at the table for all.

Plus, as budget-conscious women, we know many of you have bemoaned the pricing at various retailers. It’s one of our core passions to not have to pay a premium price for something to actually fit your body. As we’ve continued to grow and educate ourselves, we also don’t want to spend all of our dollars contributing to sweatshops and the like. So while we find a happy medium, we’re thrilled that other women are taking on the battle as well to create reasonably priced products.

A big thank you to Chelsea McDonald, creator of Tall Long and Curvy and you better believe you’ve made repeat customers out of us. We’re anxiously watching for whatever color/pattern you drop next! Link to Tall Long and Curvy here, she currently just has black leggings.

And although some of these pictures are slightly blurry-they truly captivate the joy and comfort we feel while within these leggings!

***EDIT*** We got a message from someone explaining the full situation on the Facebook group that it was an unnecessary comparison of another small business. It bears repeating, that we support all tall small businesses, and would never knowingly put down another company. We don’t condone disparaging other companies to elevate your own.

This first week after Labor Day seems ten times longer! That was true for Caitlin too, even though she was off on Monday coming back from her Smoky Mountains yurt trip. If you haven’t checked that post out yet, go give it a read! It’s a completely unique vacation experience that any nature lovers would enjoy.

This aligns well with us writing about one of our favorite retailers for activewear and athleisure, Lululemon. Some of you might be surprised to hear that, considering we’re all about budget friendly items, and Lululemon typically isn’t on that list. However, we also believe in spending a little bit more on items that you “wear hard,” meaning how much you sweat and move in the clothing and we are definitely a family who sweats, A LOT.

Lululemon is one of those companies that inspires some sort of strong opinion. Either you love it and wear it ALL the time as a die hard fan or you can’t understand why people like those expensive see through leggings. We fall firmly in the former category; however, I definitely think some leggings can still be see through. I also chalk that up to people wearing the wrong size!

I remember my mom first discovering Lululemon and her being SO excited that they had yoga pants that were long enough for us. I, being two inches taller, knew better and steered clear because they were definitely not long enough for me. I resigned myself to love them from afar, all while Caitlin was starting her own love affair with them and bringing home the cutest pieces.

That all changed for me, when I won a gift card from a blogger I’ve followed for a long time, Kat Tanita. Caitlin had long been telling me that she thought that some of the leggings would be long enough for me, and finally I had an excuse to check it out! With the incredibly generous gift card, we both got two full outfits all of which, Caitlin was right – fit like a dream.

From there I’ve added to my collection little by little. I have their Define Jacket, which has beautifully long sleeves and the body length is great as well. I’ve also grabbed some of their tall skorts, which have been great for golfing! What I love the most is the high waist on the leggings. It holds you in but doesn’t feel restrictive. Plus then no worrying about hiking your pants up all the time.

Caitlin, having started much sooner has integrated a larger variety into her life. She found that the ⅞ length leggings work well for her 5’11 frame. She also has a few tank tops, a define jacket, some other sweatshirts and tops, and has a few of their sports bras as well, which hold up really nicely, especially for larger chested women. On a non clothing related note she also bid on a yoga mat during a silent auction and loves it for yoga, as well as doing some body weight circuits on the deck up north, it is extremely durable!

Our Mom has taken her love for Lululemon and found pieces that suit her specifically for running. She has the On-Pace short which is 10’ in length and a great length to keep her comfortable while running long distances but not restricted. She’s also had great luck with their tank lengths, and we all really appreciate the variety they offer as well with lengths and cuts.

Our Dad couldn’t miss out on the fun this time, because our Mom has turned him into a full on Lululemon lover as well. He was very hesitant at first thinking it was a women’s only store, but the moment he put on the ABC pants he was sold. Some might not know that they have a great mens line as well. PLUS, the best part is, they have pants that fit our dad who is 6’4 and our brother and my husband who are both 6’8. It gets even better, because not only are their pants as comfortable as sweats, but they are cut in a professional enough way that they can be worn to work. HUGE win all around.

All in all, Lululemon is on the more expensive side, but also holds up really well. Plus they have impeccable customer service if you ever have an issue with your item of clothing. Some people definitely take advantage of this, but I’m sure there are people who do have actual issues. If you’re considering checking them out if you haven’t before and the price is a deterrent, you can always check out their “We Made Too Much” section, which is essentially their clearance area.

One other thing to note is how beneficial it might be to first visit in store. Their sizing is a bit off and we both ended up wearing a size or two smaller than we normally do. Their employees are always super helpful and can give you pointers on how the leggings are supposed to fit.

As always, we’re a pair of goofballs, so we’ll leave you with some fun photos, gotta keep it real! Tell us below, have you checked out Lululemon and like it? Maybe you’re sworn against it after trying it once, or you’ll never try it. Let us know in the comments below!
