We are back today to talk about this epically good Elevated Closet tall bomber jacket. We have been big fans of bomber jackets for many years now. So when we heard Elevated Closet was coming out with a tall version, you could say we were thrilled! We’ve introduced you to Elevated Closet several times on the blog but if they are new to you, check out our posts here and here. Especially if you are in need of tall maternity denim, you need a pair of their boot cut denim, PLUS they just released a pair of straight leg maternity if you aren’t feeling the boot cut!

But back to Elevated Closet’s tall bomber jacket! Honestly it’s a must add to the closet. Elevated Closet understands what it means to be a tall women and it shows with this tall bomber jacket. Starting with the tan khaki hue, which is a versatile color you can layer easily. This is a jacket you can pack for easy layering on a trip (which I did!) and mix and match without taking up valuable suitcase space.

Shoulder Fit

My next favorite thing is how well the shoulders fit, which apparently is no small task. Far too often (even now) Caitlin and I find ourselves having to size up to fit our shoulders. That is even while shopping for tall brands! At this point we should understand that a lot of taller women naturally have wider shoulders! No more frustration for me with this jacket. I easily can reach for things without worrying about ripping the back of the jacket. I love it even more because this fabric has no stretch to it but still is so well-fitting.

Sleeve Length

Speaking of well-fitting, THESE SLEEVES. I mean, take a look and then take a second look! A lot of my jackets that I say have long enough sleeves disappoint me as soon as I bend my arm. Not remotely an issue with this Elevated Closet tall bomber jacket. It covers my wrists with ease. At 6’4, my wingspan is easily the same length and when you add in my shoulders it just doesn’t happen often enough for me to shop easily.

Quality Tall Bomber Jacket

Lastly, the quality is there. I feel like you buy a cheap jacket and you wear it a couple of times and you know its time in your closet is limited. This jacket is a true classic. I visited the WW2 museum in New Orleans and was looking at some of the uniforms. Bomber jackets have been around since the 40’s and they will continue to be around as fashion is completely cyclical!

*By the way, I wholeheartedly recommend anyone in New Orleans taking at least a half day and visiting the WW2 museum. It is a chance to learn about our nation’s history and all of the brave people who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms!*

It is incredible how much of our current fashion is influenced by war time uniforms. Point being, to be able to buy a tall version of any clothing is still unfortunately limited. We strongly encourage you to buy this jacket if you are forever on the hunt for layering pieces. You won’t regret it! Plus, supporting small tall businesses is the way to go, as it creates more options for us all.

I’m wearing size large and would say it is true to size but borderline could go with a medium. I will always prefer a little extra space in my jackets however, as living in Wisconsin it allows me to layer thicker pieces underneath easily! The denim is also Elevated Closets boot cut jeans and they are amazing as well. I’m wearing a size 10 denim and they are a great fit and length for my 37.5 inch inseam! They do not bag out but are comfortable enough stretch to wear walking around New Orleans. Always happy to answer further questions.

LASTLY use code TRT20 for 20% off your order at Elevated Closet. It is good through the end of February!

I’ll be honest, it feels funny writing this post about tall women’s shorts while the two of us are facing sub zero temperatures. It takes me back to last Spring when we agreed to a swimsuit collaboration in frigid temperatures as well. It really embodies the essence of social media vs. reality. You would never know that I was numb and as uncomfortable as all get out while shooting those pictures. The things we do for a deadline and to get a collaboration done! We’d do it all over again, too!

Anyways, as we slide right into spring break season you can refresh yourself on our tall swimsuit review here. As I reminisce on that post and the frustration a lot of you faced because my shorts were sold out, I am going to try and do better this year and catch you as the tall women’s shorts drop! With that being said, we notice an unfortunate trend of no one buying an item when we first post it and then when we inevitably share it again there is so much sadness when the item is no longer available. So don’t sleep on this one if you are looking for shorts. They. Always. Sell Out.

American Eagle

These are hands down my favorite shorts. I can’t quite put my finger on why. Distressing is a favorite detail of mine. Plus you can’t beat a denim that lets you break it in and become one with each other. I feel like after I wear these a few times they are truly mine and fit like it.

Gap

Gap is a stalwart option for us; whether it’s denim shorts, paper bag shorts, or dressy shorts they fit our waist and thighs well. They offer a plethora of length options and always seem to fit really comfortably. They never seem to stretch out either which is always a plus!

Lululemon 5” shorts

You can catch a full recent Lulu write up here which includes these shorts. But we love the length of these for our long limbs. They don’t ride up, the wide waistband lays so nicely and we can wear them all day with ease! I have also had great luck with their biker style shorts, and the longer length golfing skirt.

American Tall

Technically, we haven’t tried these yet! We intend to at some point, because we like their denim. Based on the quality with the rest of their pieces we know these will be a win!

ASOS

We have both heavily slowed our roll with ASOS lately. We’re not sure if they are behind because of all the shipment issues, making less due to demand, or their style is changing but it just hasn’t been doing it for us. They have come in clutch in the past with various denim, paper bag and just comfy lounge shorts. I have never run into a pair that are too short!

Goodwill

One last random thought. I recently snagged a pair of men’s Levi full length jeans for $7 at Goodwill and threw them on, eyeballed the length, chopped ’em, and took a serrated knife to them a bit. They are the perfect pair of slightly distressed cutoff jeans for a bargain. I love that they are my ideal inseam and hope they wear in nicely! Whatever your local thrift store may be, they will definitely have some denim you can repurpose to your heart’s content.

This post is short and sweet for certain but will get you directly where you need to be for shorts season! Hopefully you find it helpful getting ahead of the curve this year. If you have any other spring break/summer needs you’re looking for we are always happy to share our favorites. Send us a DM, comment below, or shoot us an email at therealtallbloggers@gmail.com

If you’re feeling like weddings are OFFICIALLY BACK in 2022, you’re not imagining things! We just attended our cousin’s beautiful nuptials and we’re getting ready for at least two more this year! So you might be scratching your head wondering where you can find winter tall wedding guest dresses. We’re back today to point you in the right direction! It’s been quite awhile since we did a wedding guest dress round up but you loved it last time, so we are back with more!

ASOS has been our easy go-to when shopping for winter tall wedding guest dresses. They usually have an extensive selection to browse and a decent price point. Last year was probably the exception, but if you had a wedding to attend, you might have been more of an exception as the world is still quite in flux.

One of the weddings we had last year, Caitlin was the maid of honor. My mom and I both ended up recycling dresses/jumpsuits we’ve had in our closets for years. It was probably the first time I wasn’t tempted by any specific dress when browsing online! The other, we also shopped our closets again and realized we had snagged some dresses on clearance awhile back and hadn’t had a chance to wear yet. We always encourage you to check out what you have, but if you need something new, we get that too and are here to help!

Jenilee’s Dress

Case in point, my under $40 tall velvet dress! It is on ASOS in a couple of different colors and lengths. I got it in size US 10 and borderline could have sized down to an US 8, but I prefer to have it be looser than tighter! I assume you could also play around with how to tie the upper bodice, but I chose to wear it the same as the model.

Black Dress, Green Dress, Red Dress

Another weird perk? It was super easy for me to take the top part down/off for pumping between the ceremony and reception. Could also then work well for nursing mothers as well. The only thing to note then, is to grab an extra pair of rose petals to replace those removed.

Caitlin’s Dress

Caitlin also snagged another amazing winter tall wedding guest dress option off ASOS. Her dress is a true chic classic you could wear to any wedding that basically doesn’t have floor length gowns as the dress code! You know the dress is a hit when ASOS released it in a couple of different fabrics and colors as well.

We tend to reach for midi dresses for our tall wedding guest dress needs. They feel adequately covered for dancing and church ceremonies. If we’re going to show skin, we choose either sleeveless or backless. Or in my case, being smaller chested I would do a deeper cut as I don’t have any cleavage to pop out. Point being, everyone has different preferences on what they look for in a dress.

Dress the Population

We have to give a mention to Dress the Population brand because our Mom found several dresses of theirs at either Nordstrom or the Rack and they look amazing on her at 6’2! The dresses are also all classics in my opinion, so something you could reuse for years to come for weddings and other dressy functions you attend!

Red One Shoulder, Black Sweetheart, Maroon V Neck

A lot of you might already be perusing Lululemon’s site, knowing you can find certain items that will fit. For those of you that didn’t already know this, we’re here to help you shop Lululemon tall clothing! We also will hopefully shed light on a few new key items to check out as well. Check out our original post on Lululemon here, and also for a few funny pictures to giggle at!

Align Legging

Our top pick would have to be the align leggings. They are available in 31 inch inseam, which works wonderfully for my 38 inch to the floor inseam. The Aligns are our most worn casual leggings. We grab for them first when traveling, and also on errand days when you want to look put together without actually involving effort. For sizing reference, I normally wear 10/12 in bottoms and size 8 is my go-to for the Aligns. Definitely size down maybe two sizes, these have A LOT of stretch. The 31″ inseam is golden for our Lululemon tall clothing needs.

Wunder Under Leggings

The Wunder Under are the first pair of leggings I bought when I won a giftcard. I also need to mention that I wore these leggings throughout my pregnancy and was resigned to them not being wearable after, but the spandex in them recovered! That pair is like 5 years old. They are super pants and worth the “investment.”

Scuba Hoodie

Along the same lines of the Align leggings, this hoodie is the way to go to update your sweats collection. That is an ongoing discussion amongst friends/family. At what point is it socially unacceptable to go out in public wearing grungy sweats? The limit does not exist! (jk I wanted to make a Mean Girls reference). At some point you don’t want people to catch you out looking like a slob. This sweatshirt is it, for me. I’ve always been a hoodie lover and in college you could catch me slinking around campus with my hood up all the time. The Scuba hoodie is my grown-up option. I have it in red and wear it to/from the gym and also out and about! The sleeves offer an extremely generous length that allow for us tall girls to wear our thumb holes too!

Track That Mid-Rise Lined Shorts 5’

Our athletic thighs fit perfectly in these shorts, which doesn’t happen often! Plus the inseam hits the sweet spot at 5 inches. Honorable mention goes to the wide elastic waistband which lays very comfortably. The only possible thing to improve on this design would be to make them high waisted. But hey, if that’s all we have to settle on, then we’re quite happy! You’re going to want to keep a close watch on these shorts though, because they have a habit of selling out VERY quickly. We are wearing a size 12, so a size up from normal and two sizes up from our lulu leggings.

Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Shirt 2.0

This long sleeve is one of our initial loves from Lululemon. It’s a great athletic fabric that we like to wear during warm ups in the cooler months. It has the thumbholes if you’re wearing outdoors whether it be running or hiking. The body length is great and goes well over our hips. We have bought both 10 and 12. I don’t think there is enough noticeable difference so go with your regular size! Also, we’ve tried the Swiftly Tech race length if you don’t need or prefer the extra body length. I think the sleeves are a bit shorter on that version, just worth noting. Still a great length on Caitlin at 5’11 but not quite there for me at 6’4. It is worth noting that the swiftly tech tank tops are equally as wonderful and the same review goes for the race length.

Define Jacket

This jacket is super figure flattering, and another piece of Lululemon’s we reach for in the airport regularly. It also has the thumbholes, which still reach long enough for us to actually put to use. I bought this jacket in a size 12. The size 12 gives it a little bit of extra shoulder room for me. It hugs close to the body for a nice fitted look. It is supposed to hit at the hip, but for me, it ends right above the hip. There are so many great color options so your only problem will be narrowing down your favorite! We both have it in several colors and also love to wear to and from the gym!

Align High Rise Biker Shorts

Our Mom (who is 6’2) swears by these biker shorts for running. She is partial to the Bermuda length (10 inches) but they are also available in 6 or 8 inch length. They stay put while running and are the same lightweight align fabric as the leggings!

Energy Longline Bra

We know you don’t necessarily need a sports bra to come in tall but also yes you kind of do. These offer the right shoulder to underbust fit and the long line adds in some next length if you want to wear just a sports bra with leggings without showing too much off. It offers great support and coverage for Caitlin’s fuller C cup.

Ebb to Street Tank

Another tank that offers a little bit of a different feel than the swiftly tech. It typically is offered with a ribbed texture and all the extra length in the bottom. This one also comes with a built in shelf bra so if you are good with light support you can skip the bra!

Fast and Free High Rise

These are also an easy favorite for Caitlin. The material is buttery soft yet thick and compressed enough to keep you feeling held in. Most of them also offer pockets which you know we love. They are perfect for all of our boot camp needs. These workout tights come in 28 length, which as mentioned above still hits at ankle length for Jenilee at 6’4.

Pack it Down Jacket and Vest

Caitlin has both of these. The Vest body length is good for both of us. The jacket, I can’t speak to the length working for 6’4 but Caitlin has long arms so it might work if you’re under 6’4!

Down For it All Jacket

MEN’S OPTIONS

The Commission Pant

If you have tall men in your life that you care anything about, these are the work pants they NEED. They come in a 37 inch inseam and are professional looking, while still maintaining a ridiculous comfort level. My husband, our Dad, and our brother absolutely love these pants and would wear ONLY them going forward to work.

Commission Shorts

Also available in multiple inseams, with the same comfortable fit as the pants. The beauty of this material lies in it’s ability to make you look business appropriate while maintaining an unheard of level of comfort (as if you were in loungewear).

ABC Pants

The ABC pants are designed to replace your jeans, so if you’re looking for a more casual pant these are also up to 37 inseam and just as comfortable. For anyone unfamiliar ABC stands for “anti ball crushing.” LOL

Mens Polos

Our 6’8 brother loves their polos, and the body length works well on him. They are breathable, which is a must for him!

City Sweat Jogger in Tall

Both Caitlin and our Dad have these (men’s) joggers. They have several inseam lengths, up to 32″. Don’t let the mens description deter you, they still fit great for women!

License to Train Jogger

These joggers don’t have an actual inseam on them but in the product description they are designed to fit above the ankle for 32-34 inch inseam.

Happy Shopping!

In summary, we hope this guide will help you shop Lululemon tall clothing with ease! Whether you are shopping lululemon tall clothing for yourself or any tall men in your life, they have options that we have tried and tested for years now! Bookmark this post to come back to later for reference!

It still feels slightly strange to be shopping, as life has morphed so much over the last almost 2 years (insert emoji holding face in horror here). The gradual shift to what we need and now even want is still happening. I thought there would be a cap on the amount of workout clothing and athleisure I’d want to buy but I haven’t found the limit yet! So with that in mind, we just want to talk about what we’ve been buying lately. Apparently, we have been shopping Gap a lot and have a lot of Gap tall favorites! Also, holiday shopping is upon us so keep these in mine for gift inspiration!

I wish I could blame the baby, but I am terrible about spills without him. Instead, I’ll pivot and blame trying to multitask eating while pumping during the work day. The amount of times I’ve stained my clothing is no joking matter. Looking on the bright side, I’ve upgraded some workout wear (since that’s all I wear during my WFH days). Check out our Gap tall favorites below!

ATHLEISURE

Matching Waffle Knit Sweat Suit – Hoodie, Joggers

Caitlin bought this matching sweatsuit last year on major sale and has been loving it! We love to show you how clothing fits on both of us and I’m super pleased to show that it still works well on my 6’4 frame. I’m wearing her set in size medium tall. Be forewarned that it is a shorter cut to the hoodie so don’t expect it to cover your hips. However, the joggers are high rise so there is no skin showing. Luckily they brought the sweat suit back in some additional great colors. Guess who had to have one for herself?

Vintage Soft Crewneck Sweatshirt

We have a penchant for buying Gap items on deep clearance and this sweatshirt is no exception. We bought the balloon sleeve version of last year, which is now sold out. But this year’s version has so many yummy colors and the length of these is perfect for a slouchy laid back weekend look. Plus the inside fabric lives up to the name and is like wearing a hug.

WORKOUT CLOTHING

Sky High Rise ⅞ Leggings

I have to say it. These are my new favorite workout leggings. Gap has so many fun patterns and the fit of these are like butter. I prefer my workout leggings to go above my belly button comfortably and these easily do. Plus they don’t move around when I’m doing burpy after burpy (looking at you Burn Boot Camp). I wear a size medium tall, and the inseam works quite perfectly.

High Rise Blackout Full Length Leggings

Another thing that Gap does super well? Make sure you aren’t showing off your underwear during all of the inevitable movement of a workout. Right now they only have black, but as these are a customer favorite, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they restock more colors. I have a pale pink leopard pair and a tiger print.

In comparison with the above Sky High Rise ⅞ leggings, I’ve found that there is a bit more compression associated with this pair. Other than that there is minimal difference beyond a miniscule lower rise.

High Rise Print Pocket ⅞ Leggings in Sculpt Revolution

Of the three I tried, I like these the least and probably shouldn’t have kept the pair I did. It’s not to say they are bad leggings, it’s just a fit preference. If you look at the product page you can see the waistband panel is cut differently to lie flat and suck you in. That’s all well and good but I think I would like them more if they were sky high rise and sat up higher on my waist. Plus they don’t have a tie cord on the inside of the waistband, like the others which I missed. Other than that the fit is the same, so if you find that you like more compression then these leggings will suit you well. Also wearing medium tall in these leggings.

Breathe Halter Tank Top

I found this tank top returned in store when we were shopping at Mall of America. The length is great for me and I like that it skims over the body while still giving a shape. I wear a medium tall and it is definitely true to size! They also have an option with a built in bra available here if you like all in one tank tops. I recently tried one of Old Navy’s versions and was very surprised how much I like it. Plus it makes one less thing to remember in my gym bag!

LAYERING BASICS

Modern Crewneck T-Shirt

I bought a couple of colors of these long sleeves last year in red and olive green and the length on them is great. They are a nice weight for winter but not too heavy so you can easily layer them. If you’re more partial to a V neck long sleeve, fear not! They also have them here.

Featherweight Funnel-Neck T-Shirt

We both got this funnel-neck t-shirt as well last year. I wouldn’t say the sleeves are super generous compared to Gap’s “modern” line of shirts but they are still long enough on my arms! Note that the sleeves have a very wide cuff and the hem is rounded. I was able to wear it well into my pregnancy. Next on my list to grab is one of their Modern turtleneck options as well, click here to shop the turtlenecks. Lastly, if you prefer ribbed fabric, they have turtlenecks in more fun colors, here.

We hope you found our Gap tall favorites round up helpful! Have you grabbed anything from Gap you love recently? Share it in the comments below!
