*I will not mention the terrible weather in Wisconsin, I will not mention the terrible horrible weather in Wisconsin* *I will not mention the terrible, no good, very bad, weather in Wisconsin* (SOS HELP!) Totally not kidding, just being dramatic. We are all to the point now where it’s just exhausting. I am sick of the air hurting my face, shoveling the snow, scraping ice off of my car and layering up every single day. My sweaters are living up to their full potential this winter but my brain is well beyond them into spring.

In fact, I have had to wipe the drool off of my phone and keyboard multiple times swooning for the new spring trends online. The colors, the prints, and the sales are really starting to chisel away at my self control. So as you will see here, I got as close to spring as I could by adding in some open toed shoes and a nice crisp spring Blazer color.

To switch directions a little bit; do you ever see outfits on other bloggers, celebrities, or Pinterest and feel the need to immediately recreate it? That’s 100% what happened here. Height of Fashion posted a picture on their Instagram of Chrissy Teigen and Rosie Huntington Whiteley essentially in this same outfit and I was smitten with the style.

If we’re being honest; if I saw these pictures on their own Instagrams or in a magazine, I probably wouldn’t have thought twice. Especially knowing that the odds of a blazer in that color fitting me are generally slim to none. The shoulders are usually not wide enough, sleeves too tight or too short and in general they just tend to be ill fitting. However; since HOF posted it due to one of their own products, I knew I stood a chance.

This blazer is meant to fit a bit more oversize than traditional blazers, which I was here for. I love me a good girlfriend blazer. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the fit of this blazer. All the details are perfect, down to the details of the amazing button. After I tried it on, I instantly began thinking of other pieces I own to recreate this look. Luckily for me, everything else you see here I already had. Luckily for all of you, this cami is still shoppable right now. As are these shoes. Jenilee and I both own these jeans, but they are a bit older from ASOS. I am not a huge Asos denim fan typically but these ones have been a favorite for a few years. I’ll link some similar options below for y’all.

Jenilee and I set some great intentions this year for the blog. One of them was to try out new to us tall retailers, in order to hopefully help all of you. Obviously we frequent Asos, Gap and Express but we thought it was time we expanded our horizons. So with in mind, I just wanted to touch briefly on Height of Fashion before I call it a day. They are a new to us, smaller company, based out of Australia. And if you ask us, they are killing the game.

Much like Amalli Talli they don’t take the term “Tall clothing” lightly. When they say tall/long they mean it and it shows. The sleeve length couldn’t be more generous in this blazer and I am so in love with wearing a blazer with ease. Even tall blazers from big box shops are typically too tight and restricting for my liking, but not this one!

We can’t wait to show you another top we both snagged in our new post on Friday. I can’t believe I am saying this, but the sleeves were almost too long for my 5’11 height. GASP. However, it just made for more of a bubble sleeve look which I was into. Stay tuned for that post! We did snag a few other items from Height of Fashion. We decided that we are going to wait until spring shows it’s face, before we shoot those looks for you. Good news for you, is that right now you can use code: REALTALLBABES (all caps) for 10 % off your order.

Where does your biggest style inspiration come from? We would love to hear if its from blogs, Pinterest, your friends or somewhere else!

Milwaukee may be considered a sleepy little city compared to much larger Chicago, but the city is certainly playing catch up in the best way. All the largest cities test out the newer products and services. When they are deemed winners, they make their way to smaller markets. That’s how we ended up with a Drybar in Milwaukee, and not a moment too soon.

I was able to first test out Drybar back when they first opened for a Yelp Elite Event. Suffice to say, I was thrilled. A night out of pampering and being made to look like I had model hair?! Yes please. I took my mom, and unfortunately Caitlin had to work otherwise she’d have been there in a heartbeat.

It’s actually probably for the best that she didn’t try it before that, because we all know we aren’t the best influences on each other. A little too much treat yoself, and not enough maybe next month! Who could turn down an offer for another chance to check out Drybar, with other Milwaukee area influencers?!

It took us all of two seconds to say we’d make it work, despite work day restrictions.  We showed up flustered from trying to find street parking, but the days stress just melts away inside their salon oasis. We were greeted warmly and offered a beverage (which could have been a mimosa, except work).

Our hair stylists brought us over to our chairs, and checked in on which of their hair styles we were picking. We both had predetermined we wanted the Cosmo-Tai, which is a combination style of The Cosmopolitan and the Mai-Tai. Think great curls, but a little less than perfect.

From there, they went to work on us. We scooted over to the washing room, where the magic began. I know most women are with us, there is nothing better than someone else washing your hair and styling it for you! They spend a few extra glorious minutes rubbing the tension out of your scalp, while the conditioner works its magic. If you struggle with product build up, girl they got you! They have a great new charcoal product that removes all the junk, like when you’re piling on the dry shampoo to extend your hair!

From there they take you back to the chair, and the relaxation continues. There is always a chick flick on their TV screens, with subtitles of course. That, paired with upbeat music and charming stylists, makes for time well spent pampering yourself. We sipped our drinks while they dried, curled, and volumized.

I was incredibly impressed, because we’ve always struggled to keep volume on top because of our hair length. This was no problem for our stylists. The problem at the end when we left, was to stop ourselves from incessantly tossing our manes around like horses. When they make you feel like a queen, you just can’t help it!

Caitlin wore a favorite of hers, this tall wrap bodysuit from Asos. She can wear it to work, or out for a night, because she can throw on a cami or pin the chest higher if needed for modesty. The little lace detail is subtle but a great addition. This is an easy uniform for her. Styling tip, find a great silhouette, and buy multiple options – like one of our first posts here. She wears these Gap jeans quite often and for good reason. The wash is a great black jean, and the high waist is amazing! And as you have seen many times before her beloved Long Tall Sally booties. Side note: This exact top is also made in main line sizing.

Using a gift card from our Aunt Susan for Christmas, I snatched up this ruffle neck blouse from Gap on major sale. Initially I was hesitant about the style, but the feminine detailed blouses always draw me in. Then I put it on, and all my hesitancy fell away. It makes me feel so cute! I’m so glad I bought it, because it’s light enough to transition into other seasons easily. Plus it’s a tall! I paired it with an older pair of Asos denim. They’re a cross between mom jeans and boyfriend jeans, and they are ridiculously comfortable. Y’all know I’m getting that cost per wear down on my Treasure and Bond booties from Nordstrom. I linked a pair in taupe below, they are on MAJOR sale.

Tell us below, have you ever been to the Drybar? Did you enjoy if you have?

Thanks to Colleen Kubiak Photography for the pictures!

By now you can clearly see that we grabbed a little bit of a haul from the Amalli Talli Winter sale and wow. Both of us could not be happier about the pieces we grabbed. You can see the Beverly Wrap Dress from our post here and you can still shop it on sale right now.  We both purchased this yummy cowl sweater which also still happens to be on sale and is cozy as can be, which you can see us in here. And now this brings me to this generously long Free Spirit Thermal Tee.

I have always tended to be the girl who loves the best of both worlds. I love my sweats or as we like to call it now, athleisure wear. I also love to rock a fancy dress or jumpsuit. You can also find me somewhere in the middle, as I work in a business professional workplace. However, if I had to choose; I think I would typically head straight down the middle with comfy casual, which is why this tee spoke to me.

I love the versatile oatmeal color this top comes in. It will for sure be on a heavy rotation in my closet. Clearly, it looks great with any shade of denim, leggings and pretty much every single pair of boots I own. As you may have read in our last post here, Jenilee mentioned how her closet went under a bit of a purge last weekend. One of the things we have finally pinpointed, is that we both constantly go through phases where we feel like we need more variety of colors in our closet. Those end up being the first items we get rid of. It’s like a loop of getting rid of teals, pinks, and purples.

Don’t get me wrong. We both still love to mix in colors, but I think it all depends on the shade and what the item is. So from here on out, we are both going to be much more aware of what we are purchasing and if the color will stand the test of time. Otherwise, you can plan to keep seeing us in our beloved basics – black, white, creams, olive green, etc. I know that the color of this shirt will last long beyond most basics I buy.

Not only is the color great, the fit is a lengthy ladies dream. The sleeves and the length of the torso are unheard of. Most companies use the word tall loosely and send you a shirt that will most likely fit until it is washed – not this one. And as a matter of fact, I am confident in saying everything they release will fit you with more ease than you could ever hope for. If you caught their stories last week or read our recap in our last post it is so evident that Amy and Alli go through so much effort to assure that everything they are selling is up to their standards; which will then correlate to them blowing your standards out of the water.

I paired this thermal with some leopard keds Jenilee got me for my birthday a few years back. You know we big into leopard in these parts but these shoes hang out at the top of my list. They are the perfect subtle print but add a little bit of fun to any outfit. As any Ked’s, they are as comfortable as can be. I tossed on my trusted dark wash Madewell jeans and black aviators and I was out the door. If this wasn’t convincing enough it might be helpful to mention that this tee is also 50% off right now-YES. Half off. I wouldn’t sleep on this one, it is bound to sell out in a hurry.

My one and only complaint thus far is that the thumbholes on this tee are WAY too small for my big thumbs. I know I have above average size hands and thumbs but they were definitely not anywhere near big enough for me. Good news for me, is I don’t need to use the thumb holes anyways. So all in all, here Jenilee and I go down the Amalli Talli Rabbit hole where the sleeves are long, the shoulder size is generous and the tall women are overjoyed. We know we will see you there!

With all of this being said, I want to know, what’s your weekend uniform? As you may have guessed this is definitely mine! I hope you all have a great weekend and Happy March friends!

The unofficial name this week is Amalli Talli Takeover! We started off with a timeless dress on Monday, catch it here! Every woman needs a wrap dress in her closet. Of course, that’s only if you’re a dress wearing lady. If not, then disregard and we’ll be back before you know it with some pant options!

I know we’re midweek now, but I just want to brag on Caitlin this weekend. We had a girls weekend, and she stayed over at my house. She helped me SO MUCH! All that yucky chores we were behind on, and getting things organized and getting rid of clothing. What an incredible feeling right now, and I’m not even done. I can’t wait until I get through everything. Spring may not be here yet, but I’m getting a jump on the cleaning thanks to Caitlin!

Anyone else going stir crazy with this weather and making it productive? We attempted to shoot some pictures on Sunday, and that was a misguided idea. We made the best of it, but the wind was no joke. In fact, I wore a pair of earrings and then went to take them off at night, only to find out a piece was missing.

Onto happier times, like when we wore these incredible Aspen cowl neck sweaters. I know y’all were into my pun up at the title, don’t be coy! We had been stalking these sweaters ever since they dropped. Basically, we thought they might be too good to be true. Fast forward to an end of season sale, and we made them ours.

It is like wearing a HUG people. Have you ever worn a hug?! I think not! Truly one of the most cozy items I’ve ever owned. You know Caitlin and I get down with some cozy pieces. Wisconsin winter WILL NOT win. This sweater puts us firmly in the winning category. Some cowl neck sweaters just don’t sit right. Not the case with this. There is enough space at the neck for anyone who is irked by turtlenecks to be very comfortable. Caitlin is one of those people, and she wholeheartedly vouches for this fact.

Plus, the sleeves. Oh the gloriously long sleeves. We know that Amy and Alli have us covered for sleeve length. They posted a story on instagram the other day about a batch of pullovers that were shipped randomly without approval, and although the sleeve length was fine, it still wasn’t deemed acceptable by them. How crazy wonderful is it, that they stand behind all of their products to that extent?!

Every tall girl probably has trust issues with clothing by the time they reach adulthood. There are enough big box retailers out there, saying they make tall clothing, and not actually coming through for us. So when you experience a company taking a worthwhile stand to make sure we feel good in our clothing, it feels pretty special.

I styled my sweater more as a night out option. I love that I can wear it to work (which I already did once) and be super casual as well as a night out. We try to make our pieces go the distance in our closets and this fits the bill. Plus, winter white is so fun to wear! I grabbed this pair of faux leather jeggings I got from Asos, and finished it with my new favorite snakeskin flats I ordered from Long Tall Sally. Aside from these incredible booties I wore here, I really haven’t gotten a ton of shoes from LTS. I have to say, they are winning me over each time I try a new pair out!

Caitlin mixed it up with the casual look. If every Midwest girl owns Uggs, it’s because we put them to work ALL winter long. We’ve been reaching for our Gap jeans above most others recently. She loves these skinny jeans because they don’t stretch out! Plus it doesn’t hurt that they are both comfortable and flattering. It’s best to balance out the oversize sweater fit with a tight pant/legging look. Plus boots are still the best option to grab, as the cold weather isn’t abating any time soon!

Have you tried Amalli Talli yet? If not – now’s your chance to grab while things are on sale! Check out their sizing tips in their Instagram highlights section, if you’re concerned about a new store and items fitting well. Come back on Friday and we’ll have another look from them for y’all!

Enjoy the outtakes of this one-this light ring might be a bad idea!

We’re back and raring to go on Monday. We hope you had as amazing of a weekend as we did! Tim headed up north to do some snowmobiling with the men in our family, so Caitlin came and spent the weekend with me! Like we mentioned in Friday’s post, we met up with Hailey another blogger friend.

We basically revolved our weekend around getting content shot, and doing any and all girl things we could. Let’s just say we took advantage of our time together. We had some wine, we did our nails, hair and threw on some face masks. Can’t forget to add that we ate some good food too. We both like to try new recipes time permitting, and we had some excellent egg bake and fish tacos. Successful girls weekend all around! It felt great to have fun and chase our goals!

Speaking of chasing dreams, we could not be more excited to do our first feature on a company near and dear to our hearts. There are so many coincidences and connections with these fellow sisters stories, that we couldn’t not love them. It doesn’t hurt anything that they have created some amazing, well-fitting clothing. Without further ado, Amalli Talli!

Two sisters from Minnesota, Amy and Alli, took it upon themselves to fight the good fight for us tall women. Like us, they stand close at 6’4 and 5’10. They GET US. Clearly they know the pain of finding well fitting clothing, because they have lived it themselves. Who better to design and hand select pieces than someone who benefits from them!?

They take the fight to heart, and that’s what we need! No more trying to add an inch or two on the bottom of a piece and calling it tall. It’s all in the details, like making sure our broader than mainline shoulders have space to breathe. Realizing that just because your shoulders are broader, doesn’t mean you’re bigger in the chest and waist. Y’all you don’t realize how much you need and appreciate these items, until you try them yourself.

First up, we have the Beverly wrap dress, which you can find here! Talk about a classic piece. If you’ve been following along for awhile now, you hopefully get that vibe from my style. I like a classy look, love to feel elegant and put together. This dress totally fits the bill. The sleeve length is there! Like I mentioned above, it fits well in the shoulders.

The smaller details are covered in this dress. Not one second was spent worrying about an accidental flash, as is the case with wrap dresses. There is a loop through one side securing it closed, and an additional loop to keep the tie in the correct spot on your *gasp* actual waist.

I’m so excited to have this dress. It is modest enough that I can wear it to work, especially given the higher neckline. Plus the ruffle detail at the bottom! I love me some ruffles. Anytime I spot them, my heart sings! Suffice to say, this dress and I will have a long and happy life together. It’s a tall girls dream. The last thing I’ll leave here, is that it’s on major sale for under $35. Good luck checking out without snagging some other pieces though!

I paired the dress with some black tights, because Wisconsin Winter. I styled it as I would for work, which meant adding some ankle booties I received as a gift from my Mom from Nordstrom Rack. I carried my Madewell Tote, which is such a high quality bag. Lastly, I found the three pack of layered necklaces from H&M on clearance and I’ve been wearing them nonstop.

Stay tuned to see Caitlin wear it in the future, for all our smaller talls out there. Let us know if you appreciate seeing both of us in an item, and we can definitely continue that! Hopefully y’all like the new series of pictures we were able to shoot indoors. Like I mentioned Friday, we found this light ring, and it allows us to get great shots indoors. That’s been something we’ve struggled with, being in the Midwest and dealing with bad weather. Hope your week is off to a fabulous start. Go slay tall sisters!
