We made it to Friday! Nordstrom’s Sale is quickly approaching and you might even already have fatigue about it from being inundated with blogger’s choices. As women with large feet, we shop for at least half our shoes at either Nordstrom or more regularly Nordstrom Rack. With this sale, some of their pricier shoes might become more affordable for you to snap up, so we’d be remiss if we didn’t share with you everything we’re eyeing! Depending if you have the card, some of the sale is already live or about to go live for you. Unfortunately we’re still pretty sure they only go up to size 13 after looking through the options and there still isn’t a ton at that size. Give this post a scroll through and click any of the links right below the pictures if you’re on the hunt for some new Fall/Winter additions!

If you’re new here you might not be familiar but for everyone else, it is no secret that ya girls love a good blouse! The bigger the sleeves, the lacy-er, the perfectly proportioned cut, and the more feminine the better and we are on board. So we rounded up our favorite tall blouses for you today! We’ve ordered many blouses and can attest to the fact that the sleeve length is there and they have all been true to size for us!

Drop any questions in the comments below, otherwise happy shopping!

Last year we did a shorts roundup and it might have been one of our most popular posts. Obviously we don’t go all out and buy a whole new wardrobe of shorts every year but tend to update key pieces or new silhouettes every year depending on the styles. If you want to check out last year’s round-up, click here!

In the meantime, we had gotten a few questions about the shorts we have added this Summer in our DM’s and it triggered us to write this post in case it could help any more of you looking to update or add to your shorts collections! The good news is, now is the time to buy them! We’re getting to the end of July and stores are wanting to clear their inventory to make way for their Fall arrivals. Yea, cue the eye-rolling on our part as well. No one is rushing away Summer in these parts, believe us! So let’s get to the shorts sharing, shall we?!

American Eagle

Caitlin found these 90’s shorts from American Eagle and we are both absolutely loving them. Normally when shopping AE, we wear a size 12 in their stretchy Mom jeans. These shorts do not have much if any stretch to them. I’m wearing a size 14 and Caitlin sized up two sizes to 16 for a slouchier fit (but definitely has way too much space in the waist). We love the high rise waist and it actually does cover our belly buttons. Plus despite them looking like not much length in the front, they go longer in the back so no risk of butt cheek exposure! In fact, she loves them so much she went back and grabbed the other colors/washes to complete her collection.

Gap

Last year, Gap was one of the biggest parts of our shorts round up, and obviously, when things work well for us, we keep coming back year after year. Our shorts collections were missing some higher rise options and considering that’s the bulk of our jeans preference we knew we needed to add a couple of pairs. This year, I added these button fly front shorts. The best part? They are a curvy cut. We’ve struggled so much with the disparity between our thicker thighs and smaller waist shape. I found with the curvy option I didn’t even need to size up and wore my regular 31 Tall! Call that a win.

Caitlin also has been loving the tie-dye options this year and had to give their tie-dye shorts a try. She got them in a 31Tall as well! They are a super cute way to participate in the tie-dye but are also subtle which we love. Gap does a really great job offering tall shorts for that add on an extra inch or so to make them that 4-5inch mark that feels adequately covered for our long legs. Plus in our experiences, they have some stretch so they will mold to your body really nicely without bagging out.

Amalli Talli

If you’re less into denim shorts, hopefully, you didn’t miss Amalli Talli launching their shorts collection this Summer, with two different colored linen options PLUS a pair of camo athletic shorts! We’re all about both pairs, for different reasons. The linen has been cut for a wonderful midi length, plus they’re lined for a chic classy look you can wear anywhere. We’d say there isn’t stretch to them, I (Jenilee) am wearing a Large and Caitlin sized up to XL for a more relaxed fit. The camo shorts are a bit shorter and so so comfortable. We’ve been living in them during our work from home days. We both sized up from our normal large in Amalli bottoms and are happier with the fit!

ASOS

We haven’t bought any new options this year, but they have dropped several in updated prints but the same silhouettes we’ve gotten last year so we wanted to share those in case you missed out! We both wear size 10 across the board for ASOS design and they are all true to size. We love the high waist of their paper bag waist options and the loose leg fit. They are also work from home approved due to their jersey fabric and comfortability. Plus they are priced very reasonably. So no regrets after adding these to your closet!

That’s all we’ve got for our shorts round up this year, we’re hoping it helped. Shorts are a triggering item for many women to buy, ourselves included. Our advice to you is to never be afraid to size up. It’s much better to go up a size than to have ill-fitting shorts that you can’t be comfortable in. Comfortable you = happy you, and size is just a number! We all know stores vary on sizing so don’t spend any extra time getting hung up on it. Find your favorite pair and enjoy summer and bare legs while you can.

High on the list of tall girls’ most needed items, is a work wardrobe. Obviously not every woman will need business professional pieces, but we’ve heard enough pleas for where to shop loud and clear! Obviously it’s an odd time in the United States and most of the world, with COVID continuing it’s spread and keeping most of us on lockdown. We’ve at least transitioned part-time back to being in office and are super excited to introduce you to a new tall brand, Tall Moi!

Tall Moi is founded by Bukola Bankole, for the reason most tall companies begin: solving our fashion problems for lack of choice. Why should it be so difficult for tall women to create a wardrobe, especially one professionally? It is an inevitable part of our adult lives to have to own clothing you can wear in a job setting. I distinctly recall having to dress up for basketball game days in high school and whining to my Mom about a lack of options. We are lucky to have a Mom who gets it, as she is 6’2 as well!

The secondary part of that is having updated “cool and current” workwear. As a teenager, I liked my Mom’s wardrobe, but I liked it for her, not me! Later, as I began my career, her wardrobe was there to save me until I could afford to build my own. So for those game days, I wore too-short skirts and the same culottes (then referred to as gauchos just to age myself), to get by and fit in.

Plus if you’re a potentially still growing teen, it’s difficult to pay a premium for the few option dress pants available. Knowing they might not fit for long makes deal hunting critical! That is why Tall Moi is so GENIUS! Founded with the idea of meeting fashion needs for tall women, we have to agree they are doing just that! They have designed reversible capsule wardrobes and we’re so excited to share them with you.

Business wear is tough enough to find pieces in your length. Now you can buy one pair of pants and get two! The Brook Herringbone/Green Slim Pants are such a fun yet classic addition to our closets. No longer do you have to get by with your boring options at some of the larger retailers who provide options in only black and navy. If you travel for work, it suddenly makes your packing a breeze. Just turn the pants or dress to the other side and it’s a fresh look!

Tall Moi is doing their part to make sustainable fashion a reality for us, and we’re here for it. As two women who love fashion and creating new and unique looks for the office, the versatility of their pieces is a must for our closet. So now instead of having to shop for an additional piece, we can create double the looks with one piece of clothing. Like we said before, complete genius.

The clothing is made of polyester/spandex/rayon and skims our bodies in a feminine yet professional way. Another thing we love about Tall Moi is the clothing is designed to be seasonless. Meaning you can wear it throughout the whole year! As Wisconsinites can attest, we have many pieces in our wardrobes we have to switch out depending on the season. Obviously this can add up quickly in building a work wardrobe.

You can invest in any of these pieces, knowing that you will be able to wear year-round. Like the Geena Reversible Ponte Sheath. Cut for our tall bodies, they thoughtfully designed it three quarter length sleeves. We all are subjected to the office’s arctic air conditioning temperatures in the summer months, so we definitely are never searching for sleeveless options to wear there! Plus we love the piping detail down the front, as it draws the eye downward and therefore creates a slimming effect.

You’re going to be so happy to add these pieces to your wardrobe! If you check out Tall Moi’s website they have a ton more info on their design process and not contributing to fast fashion. We feel lucky to be able to introduce you to these exciting pieces that will be timeless pieces in your closet and will ultimately save you from wasting money elsewhere!

For sizing info, we’re both wearing a size large in the dress and the pants. If you’re in between sizes we’d say size down. There isn’t a ton of stretch to the pants, however, there is more for the dress! As always, we’re happy to answer any other questions you might have.

This post has been a long time in the works, and we’re sorry for the delay! With COVID, this has been one wacky/rough year. I think we’re all in agreement about that. A long time ago now, we had some requests for where to find tall/long swimsuits. So better late than never, we hope? Swimsuit shopping is hard enough for most women, and then you add the stress of not having a fraction of the options that mainline retailers offer.

Enter Fig Leaves! No more do we have to wonder where we can find well-fitting swimsuits. They have an incredible selection of suits in longer length. Both of us can verify, the length works well and will even work for taller than 6’4 because I didn’t even have to adjust the length like I normally would!

Not to mention, we don’t have to worry about the suit doing the dreaded pull that ill-fitting one pieces do when you’re trying to stretch them long enough. You know the one, where your boobs are pancaked flat and there is no delineation or curve. It’s an easy tell for women who are just doing their best with what they can find. Well we’re here to relieve you of that issue.

Check out how well these suits hug our curves! The natural waist is *gasp* in the actual spot where my natural waist is. For Caitlin, she doesn’t have to size up to ensure her boobs are adequately covered/not falling out. Shop her suit, here. All of this sounds like silly regular stuff, but believe us, they have been sticking points in our search for one piece suits over the years.

In fact, it has completely deterred us from wearing one piece swimming suits. We’ve been pretty much bikini girls since we hit puberty and left the tankinis behind. While we will never transition fully to one or the other, I can tell you with complete sincerity that I’ve never felt as good wearing a one piece suit as I did when I put this polka dot beauty on from Figleaves! Shop my suit, here.

The other part we’ve historically struggled with (on any swimsuit) is the butt coverage. If you do too little, it leaves us feeling rather European and exposed. If you overdo it, all of a sudden we’re feeling matronly. We are both like Goldilocks, wanting just the right amount of butt cheek to be shared.  Again, Figleaves manages to check the box. Walking around in these suits, they don’t ride up and need to be constantly adjusted.

The price ranges from $40-$135, so there’s sure to be a suit that will fit your budget. They are high quality suits so if you spend a bit more than you typically might, feel confident in your purchase! Their styles are all timeless and classic, yet current! We have a wide range of followers searching for suits and we honestly feel like there is something for everyone.

Lastly, I know one of the most underrepresented groups are tall plus sized women. We’re super happy to share that they go up to size 22 Long! We’re both wearing size 12 L and feel like their sizing is spot on.

So if you haven’t heard of Figleaves before today, go shopping! Summer is running out and you need a suit that you can feel confident in ASAP. We’ve seen this repeated many times now, but it bears repeating. If you’re trying to figure out how to get your beach body ready; step 1 go put on a swimming suit you love. Step 2, go enjoy yourself because there is no such thing as needing to have a “beach body!”
