We still get asked regularly (way too regularly IMO) where to find xyz pair of shoes in larger sizes. We’re back today to share a Lonia large size Shoes roundup! They are definitely one of the retailers that fill in the gaps for us with their stunning 10-15 size shoes. Lonia shoes know better that your shoe size doesn’t mean you should be relegated to basic and boring functional shoes. They don’t skimp on color or quality, and they also don’t believe that you should be stuck in flats so they have heels galore on their site. Check out our first post on Lonia, here.

Despite most of us feeling like professional online shoppers at this point, it can feel like a stretch to make a purchase on a new-to-you site. What will the quality be like when it arrives? Does it actually fit true to size? All questions we ponder when we’re scoping out new retailers. We love sites that provide plenty of information with measurements and bonus points if they reference how the shoe fits on the description. Lonia Shoes does all of that and more, which makes your shoe buying process as simple and seamless as possible.

At this point, Caitlin and I have each tried two pairs of shoes from Lonia and we feel confident enough to strongly recommend them to you! Lonia offers quality shoes that despite having a decent heel height, somehow manage to retain their comfort. If Caitlin and I are wearing heels, you know we need them to be wearable. Another thing we love are the amazing colorway options. A lot of times we have to settle on black or nude shoes, thankfully Lonia large size shoes has embraced a vibrant color palette so we can be bold and on our own terms!

Without further ado, lets get to the Lonia large size shoes roundup below! We’ll give you a brief description of the shoes we have so far and what we love about each!

Leonie

Enough of the full on cowboy boots, they just aren’t our vibe to wear in our everyday rotation. Leonie; however, has all of the fun updates/additions to bring the Western vibe fun while still fitting Caitlin’s wardrobe. Tassels hanging off the back? Check. Western stitching across the toe and around the heel? Check, check. Also a great option for picking a boot that isn’t full on white, as I know a lot of us Midwestern ladies are a little on the fence about wearing (and ruining) white boots in our gross Winters. For sizing, Caitlin went with 12. She is typically between 11/12 and they fit more than comfortably.

Fabrizia

Also a 3 inch heel, can you tell yet that that is my sweet spot? More and more I’ve embraced red as my power color choice, so these sandals were a must add to my collection. The vegan leather is so beautifully luxe AND comfortable that they’ll be a no-brainer to wear regularly. I also love the square toe and block heel. They provide a solid base while still looking super chic. A perfect fit for my size 13 feet. Also worth noting, they have so many amazing color options in this sandal, I’d dare to say a color choice for everyone!

Ember

Another example of normally not finding any trendy options, Ember is a perfect sandal to participate in wearing clear strapped shoes! Plus the square toe cut with the block heel are just what Caitlin appreciates in a shoe. As with all of Lonia’s shoes so far, they keep the comfort we desire in our shoes! She ordered a size 12 and these may be borderline bigger than normal because I (Jenilee) was able to wear them and am normally a size 13. We’re thinking she would have been safe with an 11 in this case.

Emilia

A beautiful black sandal with an oversized bow. I feel like I got to add a timeless statement piece to my closet. The bow is in satin and makes the shoes Simple to slip on and off and a 3 inch heel. If you have wider heels, I would probably steer clear of this style. Definitely true to size, I’m wearing my usual size 13. Emilia is versatile and classic!

If you haven’t checked out Lonia Shoes yet, consider this your sign to do so! Plus we’re happy to share if you use the code JENILEE20 you get $20 off your purchase.

Recall, if you will, Caitlin gallivanting around in ridiculously cool denim back in February. Beautifully grunge-chic acid wash denim ringing any bells? At Last tall skinny jeans, to be specific! Click here to read that post for a refresher. In summary, it made me and my pregnant belly verrryyy jealous. As we bemoaned several times, it isn’t that easy to find jeans that fit our tall AND athletic shape. So when Caitlin was over here singing a love song to the tune of At Last tall tall skinny jeans, I was counting down the days until I could try my own pair.

Cut to August, when I was feeling like most of my clothing was fitting well again. I tried on Caitlin’s pair to get a feel for the sizing and was immediately blown away by the buttery soft fit. After checking to ensure the fit was the same across different washes, I made my selection for the No. 1 medium blue size 29×36. As a reminder I am 6’4 and my inseam to the floor is 38 inches. I normally wear between a 10/12 or 30/31 in other brands. I haven’t really had a pair of true blue skinny jeans in my closet.

Quality Stretch Denim

Talk about a high quality pair of jeans! I definitely have a new favorite in my collection, and I’m not exaggerating. It might be that they are made with T400 fibers, which I’ve never heard of before. T400 fibers give you a durable stretch but still maximum recovery. To me, that means no more sizing up to fit my thighs, and then dealing with the gaping waistband. That is a beautiful feeling, friends.

Ideal Tall Denim Inseams

Also worth mentioning, At Last Denim’s inseams start at 34 and go up to 40 inches!!! So far, they have just launched their skinny denim. But we’ve seen some really exciting polls on their Instagram page about which denim customers want to see next. So as you can imagine, when I’m not even in the top half of their inseam length for skinny jeans, I am amped up about knowing their future denim will have enough length for me!

Denim Rise

This is considered a high rise denim, 10 inches in the front and 14 inches in the back. I would almost say for me this hits more like a medium high rise to me as it doesn’t quite make it to my belly button. All tall girls are not the same proportions, so for you it might make it there. That’s why it’s always a smart choice as a consumer to read the specifics and figure out your preferences. I’m very happy with the rise, especially since I still don’t have to worry about my butt crack making an appearance!

One last (weird) thing worth mentioning is the leg opening. This relates also to the T400 stretch but I think we’ve all experienced the frustrations of removing skinny jeans. You’re tired after a long day and you go to pull them off. You give a little shimmy shake and you think you’re home free until you get to your ankles. There you stand, stuck and ready to fall over because your dang jeans won’t easily come off over your ankles and feet. None of that with these jeans. They slide right off the same way they wear, like butter.

Tall Skinny Jean Washes

Right now At Last Denim has five different washes to choose from. Basically if you buy these jeans, they will be a hero piece in your closet henceforth. Yes, we know that Gen Z is trying to make skinny jeans a thing of the past. But let’s be honest, a well-fitting pair of skinnies is never going to disappear. At least never from our closet. There is a time and a place for all different cuts of denim. You will catch us rocking our At Last Denim skinnies forevermore. Our message to Gen Z, is the picture below.

Head to At Last Denim to shop, here!

We have an awesome Elevated Closet tall basics haul for you today. Elevated Closet shouldn’t be a new name to you, as we’ve featured this tall retailer several times, here and here in the past. We love it, because it means they’re growing and able to drop new pieces! Today we’ve got three different pieces you’re going to want in your closet, as they are high performance options. Meaning you’ll reach for them in so many different scenarios with frequency!

Most recently I wore their maternity jeans, which I highly recommend if you are in need of a pair. As soon as I received those and messaged Jordan to say how great they were, she let us know they were dropping a non-maternity version. Just what we want to hear! Before Elevated Closet, there weren’t a ton of great boot cut denim options out there in my inseam! We like to think things are looking up, like people have to do to see us, haha!

Bootcut Jeans

Jordan sent us a pair of their bootcut jeans and dare I say they’re even more impressive than the maternity alternatives? If you missed our write up on the maternity pair, check it out here. Comparing them, I would say the regular tall version is more of a true bootcut and the maternity cut is in between a bootcut and a flare. If you’re not sure of the difference between flare and bootcut, a flare starts at the knee and the boot cut follows the calf pretty closely and has more of a gradual subtle widening below the knee. Also very worthy of mentioning, they are stocked up to size 20, no more marginalizing tall and plus sized!

Bootcut jeans are a classic cut. They will remain so because they look great on everyone! The inseam is 37 inches and I they are true to size. I am wearing a size 10. They have some stretch, but not a ton! The denim is just as comfortable as the maternity was as well. All in all, I’m saying Elevated Closet is a company that can do both and we’re all about that!

Teal Boho Lounge Pants

Next up, we have these amazing teal boho lounge pants. Talk about a dream to wear. It’s like rocking your socially acceptable stylish pj’s. Plus they come in three different lengths, so all the tall girls can say hallelujah we’re covered! Plus if anything, they run long. Just what we love to hear! I love the fold over waist detail for added visual interest. One of our favorite silhouettes are wider cut bottoms and a tight top and these pants fit the bill. I have already worn these lounging around the house too many times to count. If you’re still working from home, then add these to the cart ASAP!

Tulip Hem Skirt

The last item we’ve been loving is their tulip hem skirt. This skirt does it all! I’ve worn it to work and I’ve worn it casually. It can be a swimsuit cover up or take you on a day of errands. Basically it’s a one piece wonder. The jersey material doesn’t hurt either so you can look cute and comfortable. Worried about budget? It’s $20, such a value piece! Elevated Closet tall basics to the rescue! Especially becoming a Mom, I value these hero pieces in my closet all the more.

So there is your little round up of Elevated Closet’s amazing tall basics! We hope you liked it and seeing it on both of us to get a feel for whatever height you are. That’s our favorite way to do it as well, especially since we have similar enough taste to enjoy a lot of the same clothing!

I’m back! Big thanks for Caitlin taking care of our blog so I could have a maternity leave. This “job” is much easier to come back to, compared to my corporate one. It’s also more exciting to return when we have so many great companies to share with you. Today is no exception, we are thrilled to introduce you to custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand! One of the coolest parts of social media is the ability to be a connector to new and upcoming brands. Carly has been working on Verity the Brand for some time now and watching the behind-the-scenes preparations for their launch only encouraged our enthusiasm for this new tall brand.

Verity the Brand Details

So what sets Verity the Brand apart? For one, they are slow fashion. This means that your specific order doesn’t exist until you actually place the order. You might be wondering what the advantage of this is. First, it doesn’t create waste because there won’t be any excess products laying around. Secondly, the beauty of this allows you to customize the items of clothing to your specific length. I don’t know about you, but that just gets me pumped up as someone accustomed to tugging clothing to cover extra length.

Furthermore, it allowed me to try my first mini dress in YEARS. Yes, the idea of a mini dress makes me shudder. Especially considering how many times I’ve tried ordering a “tall” mini dress only to find my lady parts one arm raise away from being on display. Plus, it’s practically impossible for tall brands to make a standard-length mini dress when you’re covering a range of like 7-8 inches of height difference. I understand their plight, but it doesn’t help me being on the tall end of that spectrum. Hence my penchant for midi dresses. Much more “room for error” on length differentials.

So full disclosure, we were gifted these items. We’re excited to share how the ordering process works with you. Before we start on shopping for custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand specifically, we want to encourage you to actually find out what your measurements are. It will only improve your shopping experience (as far as retailers measuring their garments accurately). This is where Verity excels. You’re 5’10 and want to show off a lot of leg? Make your dress shorter. You’re 6’4 like me and want to avoid playing peek-a-boo? Add a couple of inches as I did. We’re all in agreement that one size does not fit all!

Stacy Mini Dress

I chose the Stacy mini dress. I love the green print and the shirring plus the romantic sleeves felt like I could have designed it myself. Shirring is super popular for dresses right now and for good reason. It is simultaneously very flattering AND forgiving. So when ordering you have three selections to make for the dress. You have the size, first. Then you can customize your sleeve length from 14-17’ and the dress length from 26-34’. So as referenced above you’ll want to know your measurements preferences. I went with a large, 17-inch sleeve and 34-inch length. It absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Before we switch over to talking about the Emma blouse Caitlin chose, I have to mention the width of the tops. I cannot overstate how much we appreciate blouses that work for our wider shoulders. In both of these pieces, the sleeves hit exactly as they should with zero tugging or pulling. That’s the magic of customization!

Emma Blouse

Onto Caitlin’s lovely Emma blouse. It is the loveliest buttery seersucker print. Honestly the most ideal blouse. You already know the romantic sleeves were a big draw because we’re entirely predictable that way (and we love it). The measurements needed are your size choice, sleeve length both from top of shoulder 27-32’ and under armpit 21-26’, and your top length preference 15-19’. So if you like more of a cropped style or if you want it to your hip, whichever your hearts desire!

Caitlin chose size medium, 29-inch sleeve length, and 17-inch top length. Again a total win as all you get custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand’s pieces. You never have to look at a piece and wonder, “will it fit how I’d like it to?” The number one thing Caitlin and I agree that we constantly search for, are well-fitting tall blouses. Verity the Brand has nailed it and we can only hope Carly will continue to drop both new patterns and styles for us all to snag.

We love Verity the Brand’s ethos which is that tall fashion doesn’t have to be boring. I think there are enough basic options out there and Verity brings the style and fun we’ve been missing in our lives. Carly sources her fabrics from the UK and they are also made in the UK, so you can feel good about shopping with Verity the Brand as well. Lastly, we’re big on both outfit repeating and remixing aka getting a good cost per wear. Verity is made for this and therefore you don’t need to think twice about purchasing because you’re getting pieces you will adore and cherish for years!

Outfit Details/Links

As of right now, the sizing is S-L but she hopes to expand as soon as possible. Carly also designed a beautiful wrap skirt and a linen suit co-ord if either of those appeals more! We all know how quickly tall small businesses can come and go, so please support Verity The Brand if you love what you see. We can’t wait to see what is next in custom tall clothing with Verity the Brand.

You can shop the Stacy Mini Dress here and you can shop The Emma Blouse here. Lastly if you’re eyeing either of our shoes, we’ve got posts coming soon but check out our last post on NYA Size here if you like my pink boots and Lonia Shoes here, if you like Caitlin’s black sandals!

Oxymoron to say women’s tall shorts? Kind of. It’s 2021 and we’re still out here struggling to find the right shorts fit. Too short, too long, Bermuda, too tight, not the right proportions. You name it and we have struggled with it. We did a small bit of crowdsourcing to see where y’all shop and the number one answer was Old Navy. We went ahead and ordered a pair to find out for ourselves but they haven’t arrived quite yet. The two of us have agreed that approximately a 4″ -5″ inseam is our sweet spot. Check out some of our favorite women’s tall shorts below.
